OMG, the Sister Wives have me all confused. Ready for this? Kody’s Sister Wife #2 was married to Sister Wife #1′s brother before she was married to Kody. So before they were Sister Wives, they were sister-in-laws. So they are literally Sister Wives. This story just keeps getting more and more bizarre as the days go by. If they don’t go to jail, and they actually get a season 2, I’d love for them to delve into the wives pasts. Sounds like major drama!!

Star is reporting that Meri has a lot of harbored resentment over Janelle dumping her brother. Is she pissed that she dumped her brother, or is she jealous of Janelle’s relationship with Kody? And what do Christine, and Robyn think about all of this? I’m a little obsessed.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

To top it off, the wife sitting on the far right side of the couch looks like she could be Kody’s sister.

I don’t watch the show so I don’t know anyone’s name but it’s something I’ve noticed from all the pictures posted on a variety of websites. Maybe they don’t look so siblingish on the show, but they sure look related in the photos.

I think art one point the Fundementalist LDS Church is going to disown them… as freaky as the FDLS Church is.. do they deserve these people? I have picked up a few books about the FDLS church from the library and the ;prophet” (Earthly ear of God) chooses who marries who, and if the Husband does not tow the line the “prophet takes his wifes away and assigns them to new husbands. They also kick the teen b oys out of the sect so they don’t compete with the gross old men the phrophet assigns the young teen girls too.

I see no second season for these fu’s

This family is so shameful , they are my new favorite dirty pleasure! I cannot say enough how very creepy and sleazy the big hubby is! He is not for real, he can’t be. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if they are all from the same roots, it just adds to their nastiness!

I am willing to wager that at least one of these wives grew up with a unibrow. That would explain a lot. Where was the Unibrow Survivor Society when she needed them?

I read an AOL article about a woman who married her sister’s husband. Making them *literally* sister-wives. I think it put a little strain on the old sisterly love, though.

This all seems more and more like and excuse to be swingers.

This is too fucked up to bring kids into–sure, everyone who is an adult should be able to marry or have sex with whomever they want so long as it’s consensual, but damn–this can’t be good for the kids. Most hetero couples I know who have kids screw them up as well, but try adding 1 daddy plus several mommies and then the siblings keep coming…

The two articles I read about Mormon sister wives are on Lemondrop. They are pretty interesting. The one woman who married her sister’s husband is really honest and articulate. She is also in a short documentary film where she talks about being a sister wife while taking a bath.

Here is the link for the Sister Wife article on Lemondrop:

The short film was a 10-minute documentary called “Sister Wife” that was shown at Sundance last year.

Here’s the link for the story of the woman who was a sister-wife in Mexico and left:

Sorry if this is overkill, but I tend to accumulate information when I am interested in something!

These two women are quite candid about the drawbacks of plural marriage.

I don’t go in for the whole polygamy thing and wouldn’t want to share my husband, but I don’t really understand where some of the attitudes are coming from. The show has portrayed that family as being pretty stable. I would say they are far less dysfunctional than MOST of the families I know. The kids seem to be very nurtured and well rounded. I saw no behavioral problems (other than slight ones with the new wife’s kids who haven’t grown up there and are from a monogamous relationship).

Remember that Kody, the new wife and two of the older wives grew up in a polygamous family so this is normal. And the one wife who didn’t… well if she was married to Meri’s brother, then she was familiar with the concept because he would have grown up in that atmosphere. I did see some jealousy with regards to the wives, but they seem to handle it well and talk things out. The one who seemed to get upset the most was also in the middle of a hormonal situation (pregnant and recently post natal).

I’m certainly not saying that every polygamous situation is ok or normal or healthy or whatever. But THIS family seems to have made it all work.
