Some Other Things I Missed…Bethenny And Jason: Splitsville

While on break, I also missed this…

Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy are headed towards divorce after three years. The news came out a few days before Christmas, and I was clearly checked out. Ha! Anyway, today Us Weekly reported that the two are still living under one roof in their NY City Loft and there are no plans for him to move out just YET. That must be hard! I’m sure he’ll be moving out soon, but their divorce makes me sad. I can’t say I didn’t see it coming. They were fundamentally different people, but they sure did make one cute kid! 

I know they had a prenup, but I wonder how much Jason will make out of the divorce? And who will Bethenny will end up with next? I’m sure she’ll go after someone who’s loaded–so she can stop feeling bad about being the bread winner. Poor Jason, and poor Bryn. As for Bethenny…I have a feeling she’ll be just fine. I’m sure they’ll be plenty of divorce fodder on her talk show. And if her docu ever comes back, what will they call it? Bethenny: Divorce?

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

    I have this particular US Weekly. That makes me sad. Bryn is so freaking cute! Jason is whack in his own way. I did not know he was in Pharmicutical business.. Shit they just dropped 5 mil for that apartment. I am pretty sure he ain’t giving that up for nothing. I sure as hell wouldn’t…. I am just not buying his ” I am a failure you make more then me bullshit” He knew she had an empire when they started dating. Bethany was making bazillions then. For me I kind of think it was, oh We are having a baby, and I come from a very traditional family…we have to get married. Not, lets keep on dating and see what happens.

    That article in US also says that B’s talk show is going to kind of change gears and go into single working mom type of show. IDK, I was not able to watch it when it started. She was not in my market…

    I love Bethenney to death but I was sadden by this because he seems decent. I really liked their show. I wonder who will put up with her crap now.

    A horrified image just surfaced in my brain I must purge of her and Zarin reconciling and making a show out of it. I swear, I would never watch it no matter how much I like Bethenney. A better show would be of her and Jenni from “Flipping Out”.

    Not surprised but saddened to hear this— he was a good anchor for her. And Bryn is so cute—baby model cute.

    Beth will be ok– I think subconsciously she never saw the marriage as permanent. Not that she saw it as a business opportunity. And owing to her upbringing not a shocker. The whole TV show/People cover thing must be hard to manage as a normal person (as Jason is). I remember when he first came on the scene, wasnt there a problem at his employers????? And working for her was not a good idea–but thats hindsight.

    I wish them well and hopefully they can move ahead (separatley) and have good lives.

    I’d say I felt bad for Bethenny and that I hope she lands on her feet… but I think you all know I would be lying.

    @ Parisi— makes sense–the co-parenting thing, the spousal support that she will owe him and well….NY real estate.

    IMHO Jason was extremely selfish in many ways and not particularly tolerant of Bethanny as a person. His expectations were far too high. It makes me very sad to see that she will not have the family she has probably wanted, but I am happy for her that she is able to get away from him. She deserves better, and he needs dumber.
