Another week of American Idol came and went, and I certainly think the wrong person went home last night. STOP READING NOW if  you don’t want to know who got voted off…and if you already know, let’s get to it…It’s B.S. that Karen went home! Naima, and Haley ate hard poo the night before, and they managed to stay on. I was honestly shocked when they made the announcement. It’s too bad. I don’t think she was worth the save, but it still sucks that Naima made it past, and Karen didn’t.

Are you with me on this one?

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

She had that deer-in-headlights look about her, it was probably a relief for her to get out of there. Besides, it doesn’t really matter in which order the girls go home, since it’s pretty clear who does the voting — and AI’s voters will never vote for a girl prettier than they are. Which means Lauren Alaina still has a chance, I guess.

it definitely does not matter who goes home, as long as it’s in that group of girls (pia and lauren get a pass, although i’m not enchanted with pia. over-rated clap clap cl-cl-clap).

let’s just fast forward to when lauren, pia, scotty, jacob and casey are left so things can actually get interesting.

maybe it’s just me, but i didn’t care if karen went home because she bores the hell outta me. every week. without fail. i know she has a pretty voice but that’s about it. no performance, connecting with the audience, putting on a great show, pumping everyone up…etc. she’s forgettable. of course, i think the same thing about Thia but she got the votes to stay, so what do i know?

Thia actually kind of surprised me, coming out with a bit of personality finally. If she’d only stop singing such horrible songs — or if the producers finally start picking something decent for her to sing. I mean, she’s 15, and here they’ve got her singing like a 60-year-old on a cruise ship.

I’m glad Naima stayed (though I didn’t contribute) because she brings something different from almost all prior contestants on AI. Hope she gets the pitch together ASAP, though.

Thia, Paul, the rocker guy, Jacob… not fans. Not really a fan of Scottie, but I can see why he’d stay. Also hope Caleb SINGS next week. I liked him more in auditions/Hollywood than now.

I think Karen’s days were numbered when Pia did so well in the first performance episode. They split each other’s votes and the lion’s share went to Pia because she’s been a better performer.

But I don’t think Haley or Naima are in it for much longer, so it really was just a matter of shuffling the next three boots. Naima MAY have a chance if she can fix her vocals, but Haley? Nope. Sorry itchy.

Karen may not have been the most dynamic performer, but compared to Thia she lit the stage on fire. Thia could be the most boring finalist in recent memory. She hits the notes . . and that’s it. Boring songs, boring interviews, hell the only interesting thing about her is her rhyming names. Part of the problem this week is that these contestants were for the most part born in the mid to late 80s which was a dark period for pop music. Stefano was kind of making fun of the big hits in his intro piece which I liked.

Haley won’t be going anywhere for at least another 4-6 weeks. Her long legs and general hotness will buy her at least that long.

Are we going to discuss “Fergie” or whatever that was on stage? WTF did she do to her face? YIKES!!

As for who went…couldn’t care less about Karen (boring/vacuous), but I’m glad it wasn’t Haley, whom I believe has an awesome voice but just hasn’t picked great songs to showcase it. I hope she gets it together or she’ll be gone next.

I wondered about Fergie, too … hubby said she gained weight, and that could explained both the face and the flowing, empire waistline. Hmmm. Empire waistline? Babies hide nicely under those.
