This is a mess, let’s hope that SAG can resolve this before we have another strike. They are predicting that SAG and it’s 120,000 members will fail to resolve its dispute before the deadline of June 30th. Some major issues among many are: SAG fighting to get payments for film and video clips that go online, and better mileage reimbursements.
SAG is urging members to vote against the deal which could potentially shut down Hollywood. So, in other words, it’s just a big mess.
In preparation for the strike, some studios are planning a hiatus just in case…Transformers (the sequel) and Angels & Demons are among the productions that are going on planned hiatus…and that’s just films. Think about all of the television shows that were on hiatus due to the writer’s strike, came back and will be forced right back into hiatus.
The strike will be just another added thing affecting our economy. Hopefully there will be a resolution sooner than later.
