About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Iveta looks waaaaaaay older than 30, and her smile drives me nuts (where do her lips go???), but her ballroom is a joy to watch!

I’m surprised, but extremely happy, they are going back to the 10/10 format. Nigel seemed so gung-ho about the all stars format.

I have to agree Sassy, Iveta looks older than 30. Aren’t dancers on the same diet as models……..coke and cigarettes? I can say I don’t have any problems(yet) with the top 20.

I wish they would stick with this format for the whole season, unfortunately they will go back to the all star format when they reach top 10!
Other than that, I’m liking this top 20

Oh and I think you made a little mistake there, Christopher Scott isn’t part of the top 20, he’s the one who choreographed the routine for the boys.

Jazz and contemporary are basically the same thing (with jazz being slightly less angst-ridden.) So the girls are 90% contemporary. How sad is that.

I am so disgusted that Ryan Ramirez is in the top 20. She is my pick for the over-pimped, coddled, annoying contestant of the season. She is not nealy as talented as the judges keep saying, and she makes ugly arms when she dances. They look like dead tree branches.

i was so sad that the professor and lil o didnt make it :( i like wadi and the wooboy, and the asian bboy is cute too.

i loved all the dances last night – except for the top 20 number! happy music with goth outfits and it just looked chaotic

I think either Li’l O or the Professor should have been cast instead of Woo boy, but maybe he was cast as fodder because he seemed weaker than the other hip hop guys, and certainly didn’t do much in either the men’s group dance or the full cast dance.

But I’m going to go out on a very early limb and predict that Nick the Tap Dancer is the dark horse for this season. He looks like he has some cross training, was quite acrobatic in the final number, and appears to have some charisma. By hiding him until last night there’s now a sense of “discovery” for the fans, too.

Melanie is still my favorite female dancer, but I also think that Sasha’s pretty special. And I read on TWoP that she, like Raja/Sutan comes from that magical reality show factory called the “Glam Nation tour from last summer” so she’ll have some Glambert support.

Ryan Ramirez Ugh… I agree with you Cattifan, that girl will be coddled every week because she is Mia’s pet… and she is not even that good.

And seriously, 9 out of 10 girls are jazz/contemporary ? and there is only one ballroom dancer out of all the contestants ?
Damn I hope some of them are cross trained because I’m tired of watching mediocre ballroom on this show.

Does anyone know who are the all stars this year ?

I heard rumor that Alex is one of the All-Stars, but thought I’d just put it out there for PM to prepare for Robert to also be one. He seems to be Travis’ pet and assisted him in LV. I don’t mind because for all his foolishness, I liked Robert, but I am concerned for PM.

@vallegirl – That was my first thought about Robert too! I did love Robert and all his goofiness, but I know that PM couldn’t stand him. However, if he’s an all-star this year, he’ll do his thing then get off the stage, so there is probably less chance for him to annoy her. And I totally hope the rumours are true about Alex being an All-Star. I want to see Mark again as well, but he’s likely on tour with Gaga…

Also, Moli – no, no, no. Dancers eat well and are extremely fit and healthy. Haven’t you seen those girls? They have great bodies yes, but they’ve got MUSCLE. Can’t get muscle like that without protein. Models are just sticks who probably don’t eat a lot and likely don’t exercise very much either, since muscle on a model is totally undesirable. Apparently.

I couldn’t stand Robert either — not just because of his personality, but because the judges pimped him so hard and ignored his drawbacks as a dancer. I will admit, though, that he seems to have worked on some of his bad habits (like the hand/arms thing)because he actually didn’t bug me when I saw him demonstrating/assisting during Trav’s choreography.

I loved the show last night! I think it was their best introduction to the Top 20 ever. It looks like they have some pretty amazing talent this year. But I too was a little annoyed at the lack of diversity among the girls and the lack of representation for ballroom. And I think Rober (the whooo guy) is going to be my Robert.2/my new male Lauren. Dude just bugs me and I don’t see him as as great a dancers as the judges have been pimping him to be.

Robert’s a year older and a year more used to his body. I thought his greatest weakness last season as a dancer was that he appeared to still be getting used to his height, and despite looking 25, was clearly still in his late adolescence. There was a coltishness to his movement that gave it the occasionally flailing quality.

But in the intervening year, he’s trained and gotten accustomed to his size and appeared more mature physically in the brief snippet we saw of him. If he comes back as an All-Star I think he’ll look markedly different from last year.

@vallegirl – I’m so happy to hear you think Nick might be the dark horse this year. I went to high school with him and he is a super nice guy who doesn’t have a crazy big ego like some of the rest of the guys on this show. I also know for a fact that he is cross trained because his mom owns a dance studio and I have seen a few of their shows. Hope you all will cheer him on. I think you’ll find him pretty likeable :)

Moli…the “fuller girl” didn’t make the top 20. Nigel doesn’t like full figures even if the girl CAN dance.

In all fairness, Natalia also was likely diagnosed with diabetes, and she really needs this time to learn how to live with it.

Being on a physically demanding show where she wasn’t likely to get the kind of rest she’d need this early in her diagnosis wasn’t a good idea. I’m as likely to believe that they just didn’t want to deal with that kind of liability as they didn’t want a “bigger” girl in the cast.

And Alyssa, Nick is quite the hit on TWoP as well, so he seems to be developing a following even before the competition has begun.

And I seem to really like the word “likely.”

@vallegirl- I’m 100% with you on Nick. The guy is just phenomenal… I couldn’t take my eyes off him in the group numbers. He was stuck in with the hip-hop guys in the guys’ group number (side note– how awesome was THAT?!) and he really held his own. I think he’ll go very, very far.

also, what’s up with all the hip-hop guys this year? I usually love having a few but this group seems especially weak. I like the goofy glasses guy and Wadi, but the other 2 didn’t even seem to do that well in their own genre. Oh, well… I guess I shouldn’t complain, otherwise the guys side would look just like the girls with nothing but contemporary dancers.
