The CW cast their young Carrie Bradshaw for the Sex and the City prequel pilot, the Carrie Diaries. They cast the star of Soul Surfer, AnnaSophia Robb. The pilot will follow a young Carrie coming of age in the 80′s where she first starts questioning love, sex, friendship and family…

I’m kind of curious about the series. I hope they knock it out of the park and it gets picked up, because I have a feeling it’s something I’d watch (even though I said I wouldn’t).

I think AnnaSophia is super cute, but I wonder if this is what happens to you when you stay in New York too long and drink too many martinis…(too mean?)

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Thank goodness. Every time I heard a Blake Lively rumor I shuddered.

Thank the stars it isn’t Blake Lively or Miley Cyrus!!!! I will indeed give this series a chance, I enjoy the books.

I may be in the minority but I love SJP and the fact that she isn’t a cookie-cutter looking actress. She accepted her age instead of ruining herself with plastic surgery. Some people hate so much and it baffles me. But she is an easy celebrity to make fun of bc she never addresses it of fights back.

Who is this show’s target audience exactly? Young teens who never watched SATC? Or women of a certain age harboring enough nostalgia for the show that they would watch a weekly drama of high school shenanigans?

I’m with you, Deja. Loved her ever since Square Pegs. She just seems genuine, and I hope she really is. I have an antique porcelain doll who could have been modeled on AnnaSophia Robb. Gorgeous.

I don’t really get the SJP hate. While she’s not the most stunning actress, I don’t think think she’s terribly unattractive. She’s definitely got some strong features and bone structures, but so does Julia Roberts!! I’m not just saying this about you Nads, but the general consensus.

@sarcasatire Candace Bushnell started a teen book series called the Carrie Diaries and its what the upcoming show is based on. But all in all with Sex and the City, the book the show and the prequel series are all inconsistent with one another.

I do find SJP attractive. She has her own style, does her own thing, and seems to be a nice person. I like quirky lol.
