Last night’s Emmys telecast was a fun one. Before I post all the winners I want to take a second to talk about the highlights!
I have to say my favorite moment of the night was when they announced the best actress category and all the nominees took the stage like a beauty pageant. It as classic! What was even more awesome was Melissa McCarthy winning! I was so rooting for her, and was almost teary-eyed when she won!
The other highlight (well more odd than a highlight) was Charlie Sheen’s speech as he announced the best comedy actor…he said, “I want to take a moment to get something off my chest, to say a few words to everyone here from Two and a Half Men. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together and I know you will continue to make great television.” And then when Jim Parsons from Big Bang (another Chuck Lorre show) won, he literally went up there and said, “This is odd for so many reasons.” F’n hilarious.
Anyway…

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

So SO happy Margo Martindale won for Justified. She was FANTASTIC in her role on that show. So diabolical and abusive and yet weirdly loving.

Glad Kyle Chandler won Best Lead Actor in a Drama. That show never got the recognition it deserved!!

When all of the Best Comedy Actress nominees took the stage, I immediately thought it had to be Amy Poehler’s idea. Is it weird that I was proud of myself when the internet confirmed I was right about that? I really wish she had won. Melissa McCarthy is awesome, but Leslie Knope is just brilliant.
Plockeness, I squealed like a little girl when Matt Saracen was in the opening, screamed when Jason Katims won for Best Drama Writing, and teared up when Kyle Chandler won.

I’ve been a Margo Martindale fan since I saw her in “Paris, Je T’Amime.” So glad she got some recognition.

THREE CHEERS FOR FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!!!!! I’ve gotten so used to the Emmy’s recognizing the same people and the same shows that I had myself convinced that FNL’s nominations were the victory, in and of themselves. I literally cheered from my living room couch like a card carrying member of the Texas football faithful witnessing one of Coach Taylor’s patented 4th Quarter comeback victories.
As a fan of television in general, I’d like to thank the Academy for finally growing a spine and doling out some well deserved recognition to shows like FNL! I’d also like to point out that all 6 different dramas took home trophies last night (FNL was the only show to win 2 Emmy’s during the telecast!). That’s pretty impressive!

I was thrilled about Peter Dinklage’s win for Game of Thrones. I love that series so much that I wish they had won more; Man Men is great, but wish there had been a surprise GoT win for best drama.
I know it was kind of the Modern Family awards but I was glad to see both Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell win, because while I think individually they’re all great comic actors that Claire and Phil, especially Claire who is a difficult character to make likable, are better because of the other. Phil without a strong actress playing Claire is too cloying and Claire without a strong actor playing Phil is insufferable.

I am happy for Kyle Chandler, but I feel Jon Hamm missed his chance for a most-deserved Emmy. He was amazing last season on MM. I watched “Breaking Bad” and only flipped over on commercials, but Bryan Cranston wrapped up his 4th Emmy last night. Maybe Lady Emmy can see fit for a tie for Best Actor in a Drama because it is a damned shame that, while BC is awesome and deserves those Emmys, so is and does Jon Hamm.

I was so happy for FNL and Kyle Chandler. I didn’t think they were going to win at all. Especially Kyle being up against Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire. FNL has always been the underdog. I loved Minka Kelly’s reaction and how she handed him his award. It was well deserved.

FREAK BILL MACY!
I admit it. I shouted “HALFMAN!” when Peter Dinklage won. That was awesome.
Did you guys notice Jeff Conaway was not included in the In Memiram section?
that should be memoriam.
