Mike Rowe is looking for work. He has a huge resume of employment. He’s done a ton of Dirty Jobs for the Discovery Channel, but they kicked him to the curb and canceled his show! Now he’s standing in the unemployment line, that is, when he’s not pitching paper towels or promoting the powers of a Ford Ranger.

I always thought that Thomas Jane and Mike Rowe could be brothers. Do you see the similarities? Well now they both have canceled shows. HBO decided to put an end to Jane’s Hung, a show about a football coach turned male prostitute. I’m really sad about this one being gone. It’s not often we get to see the guys being the sex objects. We need more of that on TV.

Sad faces abound in the geek world because the SyFy channel is jettisoning Sanctuary out into cancellation space. They’ve also decided to dump Eureka and putting Merlin to rest after it’s 5th season. But don’t despair, they have all-new series debuting in January! There’s a time-traveling police drama by the name of Continuum. It premieres on Jan. 14th at 8pm ET. Then we have Gold Mine, airing Jan. 16th at 10pm ET. It’s crew of gold miners and paranormal investigators search the 80 year old abandoned gold mines of Oregon searching for treasures of all kinds. Two other new show premiere in February. Robot Combat League airs on Feb. 26th at 10pm ET. Chris Jericho, of WWE Wrestling fame, is a part of this unscripted “rock ‘em sock ‘em robot” style arena boxing with machines. The new reality show, Stranded, will premiere on Feb. 27th at 10pm ET. This show will drop groups of three of in an undisclosed area, stranding them there! Get it! They are given hand-held cameras and have to find their way back. This one could be a winner.
That’s all I have for you now kids. Any questions?

Happy Endings is hilarious!! Seriously, why doesn’t ABC advertise it? It’s one of the best sitcoms on TV.
Sarcasatire – I agree about Happy Endings. The show is hilarious. Brad’s my fav.
I hate to say it, but I am sooooo glad this is the last season of The Office. I don’t think it went down hill w/ the exit of Steve Carrell. It started totally sucking dick when they tried to make Ed Helms the main character. Even though the episodes have gotten better since Andy sailed away on his boat, you can tell the writers have kind of given up.
I really hope NBC doesn’t cancel Parenthood. It is such a great show. I think I have cried during all but 2 episodes this season.
Lastly, I can’t wait for Cougartown to return! I am glad TBS saved it. Say what you will about the lame ass title, I still think the show is funny and I love Courtney Cox.
OMG! Someone mentioned Sanctuary being cancelled! I just died of happiness that it was recognized!!!
So is Mike no longer doing the voice overs for Deadliest Catch etc? Is Deadliest Catch still going after the kids lost the boat (not sure how that happened)?
All hail TV! Thanks Chooch! Someday when TVGasm rules the world, things will be so much better!
Wanna rate our tops shows of 2012? Here’s mine:

Game of Thrones
Parks and Recreation
Scandal
New Girl
Community
Shows that I know are amazing and plan to watch now that I have time:
Breaking Bad

Girls
Bob’s Burgers
Special mention:
MISFITS – This show is amazing!! It is a british show that shows on http://www.hulu.com but I heard it may be on LoGo, too. Seriously…this show is must see TV. I’m hooked!! (hilarious, shocking, heartfelt, suspenseful.. it has it all.)
That’s my list.. what’s yours?
I must be living under a rock, I did not realize that 666 Park was kaput… I guess I am still mourning Ringer getting the axe earlier in the year.
Hmmmm…
Parks & Rec – certainly #1 for me. I am obsessed. I am actually listening to P & R on Netflix right now!!
Game of Thrones
Boardwalk Empire
The Walking Dead
South Park
Sons of Anarchy
Want to watch:
Homeland
Girls
Mad Men
Old show I discovered at the beginning of 2012 & can’t stop watching:
Arrested Development
That was fun, Sar!!!!!
The Mindy Project = Pure Awesomeness. Ditto for Don’t Trust the B. Finally caught up to Scandal this past week while there was nothing else to watch, and it is AMAZING. Love the Good Wife, one of the few shows that makes me feel smarter for watching it. Cannot wait for the return of Game of Thrones (especially bc if you’ve read the books, the next two seasons follow the third book, which is indisputably the best one.) Really excited for Downton Abbey and the second half of the season of Doctor Who. And I will definitely tune in to see if they polished the turd that is Smash for the second season.
If I’m weighing in on my favorite shows of 2012… shows that I couldn’t wait for them to come on and when they were over, left me wanting more, then here’s my list:
Breaking Bad
Game of Thrones
Falling Skies
Once Upon a Time
Dexter
Mad Men
Girls
The Middle
Community
Episodes
Of course I do love my reality shows especially Big Brother, Survivor and DWTS!
They aren’t even gonna air the episodes of 666 Park Avenue?!
How are we supposed to watch it?
I’m so sad about that show…I really enjoyed it in a trashy guilty pleasure kind of way.
For me, favorite shows of 2012 were (no particular order):
Parks and Recreation
Hell on Wheels
Game of Thrones
Once Upon A Time
Workaholics
Go On
Grimm
Supernatural
I’m behind on Spartacus (haven’t watched it since Andy Whitfield died), but I’m hoping to catch up soon.
Also planning to start Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Boardwalk Empire.
Oh yes… Grimm! I love that one too!
…and omg! I forgot Shameless, Nurse Jackie and The Big C!
I tend to go more for the less sophisticated shows because I am what I watch! I don’t have fancy cable and can’t stand violence soooo in order of the days they come on
Once Upon a Time
Castle
Don’t Trust the B
Arrow
30 Rock – which I’m going to really really miss
Scandal
Hahahaaa…the only reason I think about Grimm is because I know Chooch likes it.
Parks and Rec
30 Rock
Modern Family
Boardwalk Empire
Dexter
Gossip girl (sad it’s over)
Pretty little liars
Lying game
Boss
Too many reality shows
@plock…watch Girls soon…you’ll love it! I watched the whole first season in two days and I worked my eight hour jobs both of those days…
