Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

to be fair, they could have been aware and just were down with it. maybe not, but we shouldn’t rush to assume they’re intolerant or homophobic. maybe they were fine with it. either way, i think it’s great.
oh wow, i thought I’d linked to the story. apparently, they weren’t aware. I’m going to go back and link (totally thought I did), whoops!
Where’s Pauly?? Maybe he knew and thought it would be funny not to say anything and have a “convenient” scheduling conflict? That would be awesome.
(Ronnie reminds me that Corey Haim is dead and that just makes me sad.)
@baymenxpac,
either way,you think it is great?
It is the either way part that I don’t like.If they are indeed gay, then great mag cover. If they aren’t then it isn’t great at all.If the mag tried to punk them and used being gay as a big fat joke then they should rot in hell.
Robin
Robin,
You bring up a very good point, it is not cool to use being gay as a joke, but I really don’t think that they meant for it to be like that, which is why I felt it okay to joke about the shoot in my post above. Apparently the Jersey cast has a contract with MTV to do these photoshoots and MTV makes the decisions on where to send the pictures out, so the boys don’t ever know what they are posing for.
According to Vinnie here, http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/archives/2010/06/jersey_shore_re.php “”I don’t give a s–t, man,” Vinny just told me about being on the newspaper’s annual gay-themed issue. “I’ve done so many photoshoots and they’re pretty much all the same.
“I go in there, do my thing, take my shirt off, get my hair and my make-up done and they dress me,” he continued. “I take the pictures and wherever they end up, they end up.”
I know MTV and it’s in their judgment to make sure they don’t end up anywhere too crazy, but the Village Voice?” Vinny said. “That’s awesome.”
“As long as I look good,” Vinny said, “that’s all I care about.” Way back in December, The Situation told me that he doesn’t mind his same-sex loving fans. “I’ll be honest, I like the attention,” he said, “I’m flattered if there are guys with different preferences that have crushes on me.” Besides, being a “Queer” coverboy does have its perks. Vinny bragged, “I got a free pink hoodie out of it!”
So I think what happened is that the Village Voice wanted to use their images for this story and just ordered them from MTV. There probably wasn’t even any contact between the VV and the Jersey Cast. It was all done through MTV. I don’t think they meant it to be some big joke. I think that they did know it would cause controversy though, and that it would sell more mags. But I definitely don’t think it was meant as a mean joke.
Bottom line, I made another post that is way too long and detailed, but I thought you brought up a really good point Robin and it made me want to do more research on the subject to back up the fact that I didn’t think they weren’t trying to be mean. Someday I will learn brevity. I could never be a recapper. Hahaha.
(I am way too invested in this kind of stuff. I need help.)
Cholusindeed,
Thanks for doing the research
It makes a whole lot more sense to me now.I just got a bee in my bonnet thinking it there was much more to it than actually was. Thanks again.
TC,Robin
No problem at all. I totally feel where you’re coming from Robin. That bee gets in my bonnet a lot too.
