OWN canceled The Rosie Show after five months. Her final show will tape this Tuesday, and will air on March 30th. The Big O said, “I thank Rosie from the bottom of my heart for joining me on this journey. She has been an incredible partner, working to deliver the best possible show every single day. As I have learned in the last 15 months, a new network launch is always a challenge and ratings grow over time as you continue to gather an audience. I’m grateful to Rosie and the dedicated Rosie Show team for giving it their all.”

And Rosie said, “I loved working with Oprah in the amazing city of Chicago. I was welcomed with open arms and will never forget the kindness of all I encountered. It was a great year for me — I wish the show was able to attract more viewers — but it did not.  So I am headed back to my home in New York — with gratitude. On we go!”

Well, this isn’t Rosie’s first rodeo of being canceled. I have to say that this news is not shocking to me. Think that attempt to get Kirk Cameron was Rosie’s last ditch effort to get ratings?

I wonder what they’ll fill that time slot with? Chaz Bono’s male version of The View? It would get better ratings than The Rosie Show…Hell, I think Bravo‘s Love Broker is probably doing better…

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Poor Rosie. There’s something just so damn…desperate about her. I can’t bear to watch. And apparently no one else can either.

I’m sure the five people who watched her show will be very upset…

In all seriousness, though, I had more people who listened to me on the radio than she had watching her latest offering.
