I don’t know if you had a chance to read my update about The Simpsons not ACTUALLY living in Springfield, Oregon, rather Matt Groening using the city name because it was just generic enough…plus he grew up in Portland? Well, the city of Springfield, Oregon is fighting back…a spokesman for the city, Niel Laudati said, “We’re not really disappointed that he said it. We’re still going to move forward like we always do, because we know the truth. You have to take it all with a grain of salt. We’re very confident in what we’re doing in the city of Springfield, so we’re not afraid to laugh at ourselves. Anything that causes a fun buzz within the city is a good thing….I don’t even think that he’s backtracking. I just think (the show has) a lot of smart writers and they’re making the most of it. It’s in their best interest to let as many Springfields as possible think it’s their town.”

My favorite part of what the spokesman said was “We’re still going to move forward like we always do, because we know the truth.” – I would love to know the TRUTH! The truth doesn’t exist!!!

First of all, the fact that there is drama over a city and a spokeman had to get involved is hilarious…second, it’s over a CARTOON!!!! Poor Springfield, Oregon…

I don’t see this as a bad thing, I see it as being hopeful for all the Springfields in this country. The Simpsons once again. The best part about it is that it’s all fictitious
