Page Six reported that MTV wanted Whitney Port and Olivia Palermo to get into a physical hair-pulling fight for an episode of The City.

From the article:

“MTV wanted the girls to get into a physical fight at the DVF office,” said our source. “Olivia was very disturbed by the request . . . The girls were both really uncomfortable…Even though people think their jobs at DVF aren’t real, both girls are really excited to be working in the fashion world, and wouldn’t want to be seen getting into a fight in a professional setting…MTV responded to the protests by turning the ‘fight’ scene into an altercation at work, in which Olivia gets upset at Whitney’s boyfriend Jay [Lyon] for showing up to a fund-raiser underdressed…Olivia could care less about what Jay is wearing.”

The girls learned properly in school to Just Say No! Really? A hair-pulling fight? Come on! They’re in New York working in the fashion world, they’re not on the Bad Girls Club having a “strip-off” at Bob’s Classy Ladies for $1000. I know the show is produced, but are the ratings suffering that bad that they need a fight? I couldn’t even see Heidi and Lauren getting into a fight at the height of their drama and they want sweet Whitney to pull hair? I’m glad the girls put their foot down and kept what class they have left.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

” I’m glad the girls put their foot down and kept what class they have left.”

    my sentiments, precisely, Nads.

IN other news — re the Christian Bale on set meltdown — you can source an audio clip on youtube (I’d post it if I could….) and it all sounds pretty justified to me.

I mean, realising you are working on a piece of dreck that’s being directed by a tool like McG and no escape – I think under these circs I’d lose it, too!
    TEAM BALE!!!!

I heard it today. I honestly think Bale just broke — and for good reason. Plus, it’s an ancient audio clip — why is being leaked now? WHY?

I know, I bet you McG or the DP had something to do with it. Such a shame.
