jessica simpson's show bombs

Jessica Simpson’s new show, The Real Price of Beauty, bombed! Her premiere only got 1 million viewers, and that’s not even her core demographic number–that’s total viewers! TruTV‘s Operation Repo, and History Channel’s Pawn Stars both beat Jessica.

I’ll admit it, I have no desire in watching her new show–I just don’t care enough about her. I want to see her be a trainwreck, not trying to act smart.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

It’s like letting a 2 year old loose in an art museum with scissors and no diaper. Not pretty.

I saw a few minutes of this last night where they were in Thailand somewhere and were talking to this woman who used a “beauty cream” on her face and wound up horribly burned and disfigured. The woman used to be a singer and she wanted paler skin, after she got burnt she became too afraid to go out in public, she stopped singing and her husband fucking LEFT HER.

Jessica could barely squeeze out two tears and she went over and awkwardly hugs this poor woman (who is still weeping in abject despair because her ENTIRE LIFE IS RUINED) and offers up this gem: “It’s gonna be okay. And don’t stop singing!” And that was it.

My mouth fell open in horror. “It’s gonna be okay.”??!?! Gee Jess, would it have killed you to have parted with a dollar or two to maybe see if you could arrange for the woman to visit a dermatologist that might be able to help her? Maybe someone could give her some hope instead of meaningless hugs and platitudes? It all just reeked of “Lookit me, I’m sensitive to other people’s pain… and look how cute I am when I pretend-cry!”

Add this show to Nick and her albums on the pile of Jessica’s Failuresâ„¢.

    love, J-Mo :)

Pawn Stars was a re-run last night and it still beat her show? I figured hers would not do well but I never thought it would do that poorly.
