He’s been speaking at Creative Screenwriting magazine’s 2008 Screenwriting Expo this past weekend. Here’s why he thinks “Heroes” sucks ass in the ratings this season…

Ali Larter

Writing a serialized drama is “an absolute bear.” It is also a “very flawed way of telling stories on network television,” because of the advent of DVR and online streaming, for example, Kring said, according to the report.

Serialized dramas work only if people sit in front of their TV sets on the night and at the hour the network broadcasts each episode. But now, you can watch a serialized drama whenever and wherever you want and almost all of those other means of watching episodes “are superior to watching it on the air.” Sooooo, the only people watching a show — “Heroes” perhaps — at the time it’s being broadcast by a network — say NBC — are the “saps and [expletives] who can’t figure out how to watch it in a superior way.”

I’m a “sap” & I lay my fat-ass on the couch and watch the whole show during prime time and ” I AM superior!” I know when a show sucks & when it doesn’t . You & NBC can’t. That’s why we still have “Kath & Kim”. Good Day Mr. Kring!

It’s all this guy’s fault.

Heroes sucks now not because people don’t want to sit down and watch it at the regular time it comes on, it’s just not that good of a show anymore.

Heroes is never going to be like that first season, where I liked all the characters and I followed all the storylines. Now the characters are changing and pissing me off, they got rid of my favorite people, and these story lines are way too convoluted.

I really use to be pumped to watch Heroes and watched every single time it came on. Now a days, you could hardly ever catch me watching Heroes.

I don’t sit down to watch it
“live” because it’s a shit show compared to what it used to be and I have better things to do on a Monday night that doesn’t involve asking myself “where did the last hour of my life go?” at the conclusion of the show.

Calling fans of the show who don’t or can’t watch it “in a superior way” a bunch of “saps and [expletives]” probably isn’t the best way to hang on to your fans, Mr. Kring, you cocky jerk.
