TLC just announced that this current season of LA Ink with Kat Von D will be it’s last. TLC said, “TLC has decided that the current season of LA Ink will be its last. The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D’s journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles.” Out with the old and in with the new. They must be filling their slate with a lot of new shows if they’re canning the ones that worked for them. I don’t care what they put on as long as they don’t cancel Sister Wives and Extreme Couponing.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I didn’t think much of Kat from her appearance on Miami Ink (she was always so whiny and dramatic), but tried to give LA Ink a chance and it just didn’t work out. She’s a great artist, but not compelling to watch.

First Kate Plus 8 and now this. TLC may finally be clearing space out for their ultimate show, a one hour reality show about polygamous midget sharks. Fingers crossed everybody!

I really liked the first few seasons of Miami Ink, then it started focusing on the drama (beginning with Kat’s), instead of the artists, the art and the stories of the customers. LA Ink started with lots of the drama and proceeded to get worse. I couldn’t stand watching much beyond season one. There’s a reason her original crew is no longer there. I find it interesting that after all this time, Kat is now blaming “editing” on making her look bad. No, Kat, it’s you. She whined and complained about how Ami treated her, and claimed he was unprofessional, yet from what I saw anytime I tuned in, she treated her staff much, much more unprofessionally. The celebrity went to her head.

Remember when their ‘Hit’ shows were ‘Trading Spaces’, ‘While You Were Out’, In A Fix’ and ‘OverHaulin’? It seems TLC changes directions every six or so years and throws the baby out with the bath water while bringing in an entirely new bassinet. This must be one of those ‘years’.
