Friday, April 20

George Takei turns 75 today.

I sincerely hope that you guys have some good stuff TiVo’d because this Friday night has surpassed all previous Friday nights when it comes to dismal television choices.

The Finder (Fox 8pm) When a father and husband disappears, his family seeks Walter’s help; an attractive FBI agent seeking the same man tries to get information from Walter.

I’m guessing they’re not very optimistic about being picked up for a second season. Most procedurals save the requisite bigamist episode for season three.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown! (SyFy 8pm) WrestleMania winners Big Show and World Champion Sheamus team up in a tag team main event.

I didn’t know they allowed leprechauns in the WWE.

Primetime: What Would You Do? (ABC 9pm) Beachgoers react when drinks are taken form a cooler they were asked to watch.

The drinks form a cooler? Or the beach-goers form a cooler? I feel like something is missing from that sentence.

Grimm (NBC 9pm) Nick discovers that Monroe and Rosalee are harboring a murder suspect (Neil Hopkins) whose crime spree began overseas.

Ruh-roh!

Fringe (Fox 9pm) The Observers and the team engage in a battle in the year 2036.

And while they are distracted, the robots will slowly begin their rebellion against their human overlords.

Boxing (ESPN2 9pm) Noe Gonzalez vs. Adonis Stevenson

Naming a kid “Adonis” is a dangerous risk to take.

The Ricky Gervais Show (HBO 9pm) Karl reveals his theory of how museums procure items for their collections; Karl pitches his idea for a film.

Is Ricky Gervais less annoying in animated form?

The Ultimate Fighter Live (FX 10pm) Cruz gives Chris Tickle an earful following his loss.

Tickle is a slightly unfortunate last name. What is the worst (real) first name that Chris Tickle’s parents could have saddled him with?

Magic City (Starz 10pm) Ike tries to bribe officials in the hope they will legalize casino gambling. Vera is visited by an old friend; Ben questions his wife’s fidelity; Ike asks his wealthy former sister-in-law for a favor.

Starz’s pathetic attempt to rip off Boardwalk Empire continues.

My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding (TLC 10pm) Honour and reputation are sacred for many Gypsy and traveler communities.

They also colour their neighbour’s arbours in an attempt to lend their gardens a degree of glamour and splendour that they would not otherwise achieve. This behaviour does not win them much favour with said neighbours, which has been known to result in quite a clamour, as the gypsies argue with great fervour, bitter that their endeavours have gone unappreciated, and both sides have been known to harbour great resentment towards one another. Fortunately, a little humour often defuses the situation, and greater honesty and candour between the warring parties creates the hope that before long they will soon be enamoured with one another and interact with a more kindly demeanour.

What will you be watching tonight?

About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

How about Thistle? Look, with names like Camari and Shamisa boppin’ around nursery schools across the country, I wouldn’t bet against it.

Starz even employed a Huston to steal some of that Boardwalk Empire mojo, but it was the wrong Huston and he has a full face, so they’re still SOL.

Peter. I’d say Peter Tickled could be bad if you’re not using the name as an advertisement

Yeah, that would be pretty bad. What on earth would one advertise with it?
