Opening ceremonies for the 2012 Olympic Games take place tonight.

XXX Summer Olympics (NBC 8pm) London, the first city to host the Olympics three times, welcomes the world and Queen Elizabeth II officially opens the Games.

Before you get excited, the “XXX” signifies the three times London has hosted, not anything interesting.

Deadliest Catch (The Discovery Channel 8pm) Social Reload: The Bitter, Bloody End — The opilio season comes to a close; a veteran deckhand pays dearly for a mistake.

These events already occurred in the last episode of the show, so I guess this is the episode where the guys gather around the table and talk about how it made them feel. Maybe there will be crying, and bro-hugs.

WWE (SyFy 8pm) The no.1 contender for Sheamus’ World Heavyweight Championship is revealed.

Tyler Perry Takes Over TBS for 2 Full Hours (TBS 8pm – 10pm) Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, Tyler Perry’ s House of Payne, Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse, Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse

And thus, Tyler Perry’s plans for world domination continue to slowly play out.

Havana, Havana! (PBS 9pm) Cuban musician Raúl Paz brings together Descemer Bueno, Kelvis Ochoa and David Torrens for a concert in Havana.

Raúl Paz is Ru Paul’s second cousin twice removed in fabulousness.

You Live in What? (HGTV 9pm) A missile silo; old schoolhouse; corset factory; one-of-a-kind homes.

When I was a wee child, my parents were house hunting and looked at a house that had had rooms added willy nilly all over the place, with no rhyme or reason and absolutely no convenient flow through the house. With great pride, the homeowner took them to see the exterior of the house, and pointed out an interesting industrial feature scattered throughout the paneling. “Bolts! To add on!” he boasted. We didn’t buy that house, but I sometimes wonder what living there would have been like; probably very similar to growing up in the house from Rose Red.

Swamp Wars (The Discovery Channel 10pm) A child is sent into a coma after being bitten by a poisonous coral snake; Lt. Cullen learns that his niece has been bitten by a water moccasin.

That sucks; snake bites are nothing to joke about. Learn what venomous species live in your area, teach your children how to recognize them, and make sure they steer clear.

Lost Girl (SyGy 10pm) What Bo uncovers while investigating a disappearance threatens her own physique.

Girlfriend must have discovered Krispy Kremes.

These little babies have been instrumental in destroying many a physique.

Common Law (USA 10pm) When their mentors are called in, Wes and Travis see each other differently.

Nothing like a visit from the in-laws to help you understand exactly why your partner is screwed up in the ways that he is screwed up.
