Tonight’s Top 10 Shows: Friday, June 22

Watercooler

Friday, June 22

This was adopted as the official flag of Sweden in 1906. This fact is about 46 times more interesting than anything on television tonight.

Deadliest Catch (The Discovery Channel 8pm) Social Reload: No Exit

I know what all of those words mean individually, but couldn’t begin to explain what this episode might be about.

20/20 (ABC 9pm) Author Rielle Hunter discusses her upcoming memoir and her relationship with former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards.

If I had known 15 years ago that all it took to get a book contract was getting knocked up by a married politician whose wife was very publicly dying of cancer, my life might have turned out very differently.

Whale Wars (Animal Planet 9pm) The Brigitte Bardot crew abandons their damaged vessel; the Bob Barker deploys a team to disable a Japanese harpoon ship.

Super-stealthy Japanese Harpoon Ship Disabling Team, come on down!!!!!

Deadly Seas (The Discovery Channel 9pm) The deadly North Atlantic Sea has claimed the lives of 165 people in the last 10 years; the dangers of scallop-dredging.

Never dredge for scallops on a full stomach.

Phineas and Ferb (The Disney Channel 9pm) Candace tries to bust the boys; the boys help their father unearth a piece of history.

I did mention that there’s pretty much nothing on tonight, right?

The Ricky Gervais Show (HBO 9pm) Ricky, Stephen and Karl discuss the laws of society; Stephen asks Karl what he would have done if he had been on the bus during the historic Rosa Parks protest.

America’s Most Wanted (Lifetime 9pm) A con artist commissions an accomplice to steal a diamond ring; a man’s jealousy leads to a deadly plot.

Remember when this show was actually on network television and considered somewhat relevant?

The Culinary Adventures of Baron Ambrosia (The Cooking Channel 10pm) Episode: The Stomach Rumble of Baltimore, MD.

This show looks annoying as hell, but I love typing the title.

Fashion Police (E! 10pm)

These four people are all clearly qualified to critique other people’s clothing choices.

Common Law (USA 10pm) Wes and Travis start to suffer performance anxiety while hunting “Bonnie and Clyde” copycats.

Raising the question of what, exactly, are Wes and Travis expected to do once they catch said copycats?

About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

After seeing that lineup, I think I’ll be watching a rerun of last night’s S&JW.

Ummm, reading a good book is what I’ll be doing.

You have excellent taste! Why wait any longer for the suggested novel? Amazon here I come.
