Salvador Dali was born on this day in 1904. You know that Ragu commercial where the mom feeds the “evil” kid first, and it’s a little boy with crazy eyebrows and a goatee? That’s what I imagine Dali looking like as a child.
I just want to give a shout out and say “Thanks!” to carol, who gave me the link that I am using to provide you all with renewal information on the various finale episodes.
Undercover Boss (CBS 8pm) Finale: MasTec CEO Jose Mas goes under cover and receives an explosive surprise.
MasTec is an contracting firm that handles electrical engineering and things like that, so when they say explosive, they probably mean that something actually went “BOOM!” in a not-so-good way. Renewal status: Renewed.
The Finder (Fox 8pm) Finale: Walter’s dying father asks him to find his first love, Walter’s mother; Uncle Shadrack continues to force marriage on Timo and Willa.
Michael Clarke Duncan remains eloquently stoic and super sexy. Renewal status: Cancelled! I’m not surprised, the only reason I ever watched it was because I was too lazy to change the channel when it was on after Bones.
Primetime: What Would You Do? (ABC 9pm) An extreme couponer holds up the checkout line; a waitress harasses a diner about the size of her family; while a woman is in the bathroom, her fiance and maid of honor flaunt their affair; a pharmacist talks loudly about a customer’s prescription.
I would listen attentively, text my friends all the dirty details, and then go about my day. Because I am a horrible person.
CSI: NY (CBS 9pm) Finale: Mac fights for his life after being shot, and the team tries to bring the person responsible to justice.
Will Lieutenant Dan and company be returning in the fall? Renewal status: Uncertain, but we can hope (that it doesn’t get renewed.)
Fringe (Fox 9pm) Finale: The team is pushed to its breaking point as it tries to stop a catastrophic event from happening.
Renewal status: Renewed! The fifth season will be the last and is only 13 episodes long, but I’m glad they’re giving it a chance to tie up loose ends and go out with some sort of closure instead of leaving us all hanging like they did with another science fiction cult favorite that I’m not going to name which was cancelled after only eleven episodes aired.
Grimm (NBC 9pm) When Juliette stumbles upon a horrifying murder, Nick learns the suspected creature is unable to return to a human form; Hank sees something inexplicable.
Is Juliette finally going to be given some credit for being an intelligent, grown-up woman?
Whale Wars (Animal Planet (9pm) An anonymous tip sends the Brigitte Bardot team to a remote island bay; hostilities erupt when the land team tries to convince the locals that their traditions are not viewed favorably by the outside world.
I never knew that saving whales was such a James Bond-y enterprise.
Say Yes to the Dress (TLC 9:30pm) A bride’s controlling mother tries to tell her what dress to wear; a military bride has a battle over sexy dresses; a scientific bride chooses red dresses for her beach wedding.
Sexy and patriotic. What more could a girl want?
Blue Bloods (CBS 10pm) Finale: As Frank races to stop a biological weapon attack on the city, he tries to hide the threat of danger from his family; Jamie and Danny’s conflict comes to a head.
A very dear friend of mine has this extremely complex plan all worked out for how she is going to stalk and “accidentally” meet Tom Selleck (if hearing him say, “Yes, officer, that’s the woman who’s been lurking in my hydrangeas,” as she is lead to a police car in handcuffs meeting him) but fortunately she won’t have to go to such extremes quite yet, because — Renewal status: Renewed!
Common Law (USA 10pm) Premiere: Partners are enrolled in couples counseling; Wes and Travis search for the murderer of a federal judge’s son.
A mis-matched police officer partnership? As a premise for a TV show? How avant garde!

OOOOOH! I will HAVE to watch Primetime if only to have proof that I am not the only one to get stuck in the checkout lane behind the extreme couponer who has to find all the coupons and then search for her (Sorry, but it’s always a woman) credit card.
@snowshoe that woman(you are correct) may or may not also have a W.I.C. order as well. FYI, there is nothing wrong with WIC is it an awesome program considering the cost of formula. They just need a faster checkout system.
I agree, Moli. Not only WIC, which I agree is a good thing, but food stamps, or coupons, as well. Food stamps used to take forever and, yep, I was next in line.
You are so right. We need a better system to deal with those programs.
I get a kick out of people whippin’ out the credit/debit card for $.30 purchases.
I saved a ton of money on formula by breastfeeding. The thought of which makes the kittens oogy!!!
I saved money on formula by letting my kids out at night to catch their own food.
You’re a better cat than I am, Gunga Din.
And 10Q for not calling me out on that sentence fragment.
I think I’m going to go to Dali for dinner this weekend, thanks SupberB! I heart tappas!
