Friday, May 25

Gilbert and Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore (or the Lass That Loved a Sailor) opened on this date in 1878.

Seriously, you guys, rent a movie or go out drinkin’ or something, there is NOTHING on tonight.

Shark Tank (ABC 8pm) NBA champion Bill Walton helps a triathlete pitch his idea for a unique water bottle; a ghostwriter from California seeks a business investment; two women from Minnesota present their online business that helps people plan their own funerals.

Clean Bottle! The revolutionary water bottle that unscrews at both ends for easy cleaning!

Finding Bigfoot: Further Evidence (Animal Planet 8pm) Moonshine and Bigfoot: The team recalls an expedition to Kentucky to find evidence of sasquatches.

Next thing you know, they’ll be trying to correlate sightings of Nessie with Scotch consumption.

The Deadliest Catch (The Discovery Channel 8pm) Behind the scenes facts and tweets from captains and crews; the Wizard crew faces a life or death situation; an Arctic hurricane wreaks havoc with the fleet.

You know you’re a hard-core crabber when you can live-tweet while hauling in the traps.

NHL Hockey (NBCSN 8pm) Eastern Conference Final, game 6. From Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

Did you know that New Jersey was recently cited as the least politically corrupt state in the U.S.? Strange but true.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown! (SyFy 8pm) After his shocking betrayal of John Cena and the WWE Universe, Booker T delivers an exclusive interview with the Big Show.

…I don’t know what any of those things mean.

Need to Know (PBS 8:30pm) A town tries to reinvent itself by bringing in a solar panel manufacturing company; the future of the American solar power industry; the value of volunteerism.

Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country (CMT 9pm) Jennie throws her mother and her new husband a welcome home from your honeymoon barbeque; the side yard is full of twinkling lights, a mechanical bull, and a bluegrass band.

The twinkling lights are what make it classy.

The Ricky Gervais Show (HBO 9pm) Ricky, Stephen and Karl each describe their idea of the quintessential Englishman.

That is all I have to say about that.

Mystery Diners (The Food Network 10pm) Owners of Haus Murphy hire their nephew as restaurant manager.

It’s basically Kitchen Nightmares with hidden cameras and without Gordon Ramsay.

The Dead Files (The Travel Channel 10pm) Steve and Amy investigate a grandmother’s claims of frightening activity in her Wichita home, leading to some shocking discoveries.

In other words, they find her naughty drawer.

What will you be watching tonight?

About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

Is your quintessential Englishman Mr. Darcy or Colin Firth? In either case, you are correct, madam!

Anyone watch Fashion Police? Even though she’s ancient, Joan’s still got it.
