Monday, March 19

On this day in 1895, brothers Auguste and Louis Lumière recorded the first footage on the newly patented “cinematograph,” airing their first completed film in December of the same year. “Ye Olde CinematographGasm,” a penny circular of the time, mocked said film mercilessly the next day in an article written by Horatio Q. Flipitenstein, a humble and unassuming bachelor with a quick wit, a gift for snark, and a masterful ability to make the English language do his every bidding. The rest, as they say, is history.

Dancing With The Stars (ABC 8pm) Premiere: The couples dance either the foxtrot or the cha-cha.

My money is on Jaleel White and Kym to win this season; you can’t play someone as clumsy as Urkel without having some crazy physical control.

Monday Night Sitcom Block (CBS 8pm – 10pm) How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, Two and a Half Men, Mike & Molly.

I’m not really sure if any of these are funny, but CBS wants you to think they are, so rest assured the laugh tracks will tell you when a joke has been made.

The Voice (NCB 8pm) The coaches team up with music industry professionals, who act as advisers. Team members perform dueling duets, after which each coach must decide which vocalist from the team will advance to the live shows.

We’re finally getting down to business!

House (Fox 8pm) The team works to save a blind man with a mysterious illness; House’s mother makes an unexpected visit.

Finally, the episode that was eaten by the Daytona 500 airs!

Hopefully it’s more interesting than watching this for two full hours was.

Pretty Little Liars (ABC Family 8pm) “A” uses Rosewood’s Junior League Masquerade Gala as the perfect setting for another cat-and-mouse game with the Liars; the identity of “A” is revealed.

Finally!

Alcatraz (Fox 9pm) Rebecca, Hauser and Doc try to capture a musically inclined serial killer (Rami Malek) who has become even more violent.

I hope this doesn’t mean that it is a musical episode. Actually, I kind of do hope that it is a musical episode.

Being Human (SyFy 9pm) Sally becomes locked in a dream world.

I’ve got a theory, some kid is dreamin’, and we’re all caught up in his wacky Broadway nightmare.

LaLa’s Full Life Court (VH1 9pm) Premiere: After Carmelo’s trade, the Anthony family settles in to life in New York City; La La’s friends bring up infidelity.

I have no idea what this show is about, but I figured somebody might be interested.

Castle (ABC 10pm) The investigation into the death of a contestant on a popular dance competition show leads Castle and Beckett to a shocking secret that may have led to her death.

I love that this episode is airing immediately after DWTS.

Bad Girls Club (Oxygen 10pm) The plan backfires when the twins try to stir up trouble in the house; the girls head south to Cabo, Mexico.

I’m fairly certain that every episode this season could include the phrase “when the twins try to stir up trouble in the house” in its description. I’m pretty sure Cherie can back me up on that.

What will you be watching tonight?

About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

    OMG you two are crazy!!

Hey the best part about the Daytona 500 was watching JPM crash into a Jet Dryer!! That moron has now hit everything on the race track!! :) Yes I am a NASCAR fan…they aren’t all rednecks! There are 2 drivers from my state, and one is fine as hell! I made my hubby stand in line all day for an autograph a few years ago when we were in Vegas.

It’s about freaking time that we find out whom “A” is!! Still sad that Hypno is taking a break from the recaps, I sure will miss him!

Oh, and DWTS…I hate to admit this, but I do actually watch this show, and no I am not old enough! I am not sure who I think is going to take the mirrorball. I was hoping that we wouldn’t have to see Ballas this time around, but sadly he is going to be on…Along with Derek. I really don’t like those 2 asshats! I guess being on that show gets you something. Chelsey is now on One Tree Hill, along with her BF Stephen from Laguna Beach…

Yeah, I watch way to much tv to know this shit!

So with PPL “done” for the season, its coming back in June for the summer season, or whatever it is ABC Family does with their shows… and the MR on Deployment, I have something to watch while Bethanny Ever After gets to stay on the DVR list

Oh, don’t get me wrong, the crash was interesting, but the two hours of repeat footage while they cleaned everything up and interviewed every single person within a six mile radius about the crash got old.

Wow! Had to check to make certain, but we have several issues of “Ye Olde CinematographGasm,” that I found in Grandma’s attic. Sure enough, the article is there.

    Cyber stalking is so sweet!

tb4u, sorry about hubby being stuck on a ship. It DOES eventually end, then you can join the others among us who are reserve spice (plural of spouse). Hang in there. Mine’s Navy too.

Snow-he has 2 years left…I am trying to get him to re-up 1 last time so he can retire. If he does this, he will retire at 38!! He has told me no effing way, but I think I may be able to convince him otherwise :) We moved back to WA at the end of 2010. He met up with his ship on 1/1/11. was home in june left for 8 weeks in Aug. Came home in late October, we bought a house then as well. We moved mid Nov. and he left again 12/5/11. He thinks they will be home some time late summer…But you know how it is…This is the longest/roughest/craziest 18 months we have had in the 7 1/2 years we have been married. He thinks that he will be home in time to celebrate 8! Yes it sucks, and yes I have been complaining the past few months. But we had literally moved, unpacked-mostly- had thanksgiving dinner in our new place, and he was out the door! When we got married, I knew what my life was going to be like, but it wasn’t until we moved back home from Shore Duty in San Diego, that everything hit that fan!! But I love him, and I would change nothing about the last 7 1/2 years!! We don’t have babies, just 3 fur babies. Now that it is getting to the end of March, getting our house in order for when he returns is my next project. Oh that and finding a job…!
