About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

Yay! It sounds like it’s going to be the real person challenge on Project Runway. That explains all the tears in the previews, the designers always stress out having to dress someone over a size 0.

Waaaaait a minute, SuperB. Head of household? You DO have a cat, no?

Anyway, we are stereotypes, too. Whoever balances the checkbook has HoH rights. Screwed it up royally the first month we were married and Hubbycat has been HoH ever since.

    Purrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

@ SSC – Our four cats aren’t interested enough in our petty mortal lives to deign to be head of household; they know they rule the universe.

SuperB @3, I’ll bet they don’t even bother with the checkbook either. Smart kitties.

Hmmmmmmmmm. Won’t be long before people say “what is this ‘checkbook’ of which you speak?”

Like most people, we do almost everything electronically.

I’m pretty sure my cats have figured out my password for my Paypal account. That’s the only explanation for the continued arrival of these shipments of catnip toys…

    Cats are also savvy shoppers.

Did anyone see the men’s long jump finals a couple of days ago? It was during the prime time show. It was a very short segment, maybe three minutes at the most. At first I thought it was just the qualifying round, but nope, it was the final. They quickly showed the final jump for the three medalists, then a quick shot of them on the podium. I thought long jump was something they would give a little bit more air time too considering it is dudes flying through the air without using anything except their talent and amazing bodies.

I just read your very ignorant comment about the gorgeous woman who proposed to her BF on REAL LIFE THE MUSICAL. You are pretty blind & stupid man if you MISSED why she did it!
Stop holding your baby wank in your hand and expand your mind. You need a good woman (or man) in your life it seems!!

Karma @9—- *sigh*. Why do people comment before understanding what this site is all about? We see, we snark, we have a good time. There is no need to be rude and say nasty things about our ‘cappers/forecasters. You may disagree. We often do. But there is no reason to be mean unless you are another troll off her meds who wants the incredibly astute SuperB to hit the century mark.

Good grief, get a sense of humor or go elsewhere.

@Carol. I’m so easily distracted. Forgot your comment. My major complaint about the Olympics (other than synchronized swimming. What’s the deal with THAT?) is that more attention — and airtime — is given to tear-jerking stories about the athletes, their sick moms, their dedication to elderly aunts who financed their training because they believed in them…. than to the events themselves.

You are right. If we blink we miss a major event. Track and field are my favorite events, but I’m afraid to to to the bathroom lest I miss the heat. I can get pretty uncomfortable. Missed the long jump completely, but I’m with you on the coverage.

Let’s get together and write a strongly worded letter to NBC.

@snowshoecat – I have found that the day time coverage is a little better since they are not pulling for the ad money. It is also usually the more obscure things that they know won’t bring in the viewers. They actually showed the whole men’s 10,000m race. I watched the whole thing. Thought it was going to be a little dull, but it was great. The ending was fantastic. It also annoys me that there are so many sports that are not shown at all, on any of the NBC family of channels. In sailing, Ben Ansle just won his fifth medal in his fifth consecutive Olympics. He might be British, but winning his fourth gold medal (first was silver) is amazing. I’ll be honest, he is also pretty easy on the eyes.

Also, it might be summer, but if would be a lot nicer if they bumped up the ‘prime time’ time slot from 8-12 to 7-11. People might be pissed they won’t get Jeopardy, but it would help the general population. Especially since they usually save the ‘good stuff’ for 10:30 and later.

Sorry, end rant about NBC’s coverage of the Olympics. The only good thing so far has been the occasional creative ads. I am a sucker for those ‘thanks mom’ ones.

@carol…you back down! Jeopardy is essential. How else can I justify the other 5 hours of trash I watch everyday.

I think they can’t bump it up because evening news comes on at 7 in some cities and then world news at 730.

@classy drunk – I love jeopardy, any show that is full of random facts is awesome in my book. It just happens to be the show on at 7:30 for my NBC affiliate. Random sidenote- was at my grandparent’s house over the weekend, they left NBC/Olympics on all day. Then before going out for dinner, while they were having their cocktail(s) Jeopardy was on. They asked what show that was. I almost fell off the couch, neither of them had ever seen or heard of Jeopardy before. I didn’t think that was possible. They then asked me if it was like the old quiz shows that used to be on when there were only three stations. I had no clue what they were talking about. So I guess we were even.

@sagittariuskim – pacific (SF). And the house where I watch cable tv has DirectTV so everything is 3 hours early except local stations (ie CBS, NBC, ABC, etc).

Did anyone else notice that during the women’s team all-around in gymnastics, NBC never actually showed the final floor routine score. They just went to the final all-around score that gave the USA the gold. Does anyone know what her score actually was?
