Thursday, February 23

The Battle of the Alamo began on February 23, 1836.

Wipeout (ABC 8pm) Contestants tackle obstacles while they are terrorized by yetis.

I am so tired of the gentle yeti getting a bum rap.

30 Rock (NBC 8pm) Liz helps Jenna seduce an Internet billionaire.

Jenna will be using her sexuality.

American Idol (Fox 8pm) Semifinalists are announced.

Only 3,627 hours of American Idol left to watch this year.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC 9pm) An explosion at a coffee shop results in a busy ER.

The mass-casualty episodes of this show are always the best, because it provides a refreshing break from the relationship drama.

Barring the ferry crash story line that would. Not. End.

Person of Interest (CBS 9pm) Episode: Risk

Which is exactly what you will be taking should you choose to watch this instead of…

The Office (NBC 9pm) Dwight and Packer compete for a job; Jim receives an unwelcome visitor; Andy has everyone stay late to cover for their co-workers in Florida.

In my opinion, The Office is actually worth watching again. Feel free to tell me why I’m wrong in the comments.

The Finder (Fox 9pm) Dr. Jack Hodgins (“Bones”) asks Walter to help find evidence of extraterrestrial activity; Timo and Willa try to deal with their relationship.

I’m beginning to think that this spin-off was created solely to give the Bones cast something to do while Emily Deschanel had her baby.

Project Runway (Lifetime 9pm) While at the United Nations headquarters, the designers must choose flags as inspiration for creating dresses.

Private Practice (ABC 10pm)
Sam struggles to take care of his sister; Sheldon finds out that Amelia has life-altering news; Addison and Jake continue to flirt.

This show just keeps on recycling plots, doesn’t it?

Jersey Shore (MTV 10pm) The cast members avoid a shark attack; Jenni confronts Pauly’s stalker; Snooki sets her sights on Vinny.

It was that shark’s lucky day; poor Stalkerella; oh dear God, not this again!

What will you be watching tonight?

About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

Drowning after that stoopid ferry crash is #7 on my Mere-death fantasy list. Dismemberment at the hands of a chainsaw-wielding maniac is currently #1.

Also, I understand that Yetis’ feet are actually quite dainty.

@ nwmtv – I might actually start watching Grey’s again if a chainsaw-wielding maniac became part of the mix. SO tired of Meredith.

@ SSC – That’s what makes them such graceful dancers.

@ Gypsy – I wouldn’t steer you wrong! I think that The Office is better than it’s been since around mid-season 5. It’s definitely very different now, but it’s getting the funny back and they’ve transitioned to a Michael Scott-less world very smoothly. It’s worth giving another shot.

I doubt it. Shonda Rhimes would just Xerox another pilot for a show about hot, young, angsty, assholish doctors who just can’t keep it in their sneakers.

And Suburbint, thanks for doing such a good job with this!

The Office has definitely improved, as long as Robert California isn’t on it. He just drags everything down. Meredeth used to be my least favorite character on Grey’s, which can be tough when she’s the main character. However, I’ve really enjoyed her growth over the last couple of years. Once she and Derek had the post-it wedding, she’s become a much more likable character.

And SuperB, I love how you add little bits of trivia at the beginning of each of these articles. We can learn a new fact every day!

I’m back to the office too. Nice sales job!

Two Hoboken bars won’t allow the Guidettes to film there, and JS season 5 is up in the sir. I hope they recast to get the zest back.

@ kczar – If I had a theme song, it would be “The More You Know” from the NBC PSAs.

    @ Gypsy – woohoo! I don’t think you’ll be sorry.

@ SSC – Hoboken bars or Jersey City bar? Cos I thought they were banned from filming in Hoboken, period.

@ nwmtv – Zest and also pep.

Oops! My bad. The article began with the “news” that Hoboken won’t even let them in. Jersey City bars are now taking it upon themselves to bad them.

Okay, NWMTV. They never really had much zest, except for bad behavior. But at least they weren’t pretending to be idiots at first. Nothing like fake idiots. I want mine REAL.
