Tonight’s Top 10 Shows: Thursday, July 5

Watercooler

Thursday, July 5

On this date in 1996, Dolly the sheep, the first mammal to be successfully cloned, was born. She was named Dolly because the cell from which her DNA was extracted came from a mammary gland, and the scientists involved “couldn’t think of a more impressive pair of glands than Dolly Parton’s.” That’s a legacy for you.

Duets (ABC 8pm) The stars and their duet partners perform standards.

This show sounds more boring every week.

Take Me Out (Fox 8pm) Single men search for the perfect summer fling.

A dating show hosted by George Lopez is such a logical stepping stone towards that goal.

Breaking Pointe (The CW 8pm) Finale: As closing night approaches, everyone worries about Rex; Christiana crumbles when her husband asks her about life after ballet.

It’s easy, Christiana. Just have a daughter or five and live vicariously through her/them.

“It’s working great for me!”

Celebrities at Home (HGTV 8pm) Robin Antin’s Hollywood hideaway; Jason Kennedy’s calming bedroom; Dina Manzo’s New Jersey home.

It’s like MTV Cribs except with people you’ve never, ever heard of.

Saving Hope (NBC 9pm) A double hand reattachment gives Alex a chance to prove that she is still capable of being chief surgical resident.

Until the next morning when her attending noticed that, although each hand had sufficient blood flow and neural responses, the right hand was attached to the left arm and vice versa. These things happen.

The Choice (Fox 9pm) Reality-TV star Rob Kardashian, comic Finesse Mitchell, professional football player Rob Gronkowski and Olympic gold-medalist Steven Lopez look for love.

They will, however, settle for negotiable affection.

On the Fly (TLC 9pm) A sleeping passenger misses his flight; a couple had a misconnection on their way to Albany; an agent must decide if a giant sombrero breaks baggage rules.

Unless it contains more than 3oz of a fluid, I really don’t see what the problem is.

Anger Management (FX 9:30) Charlie challenges his group to do 36 hours of sleep deprivation therapy so that their inhibitions come down.

Because when you hear the word inhibitions, the first person you think of is Charlie Sheen.

Cajun Justice (A&E 10pm) A shrimp fisherman pulls in what he believes to be a human bone; “Funkie Nuts” intervenes when a Cajun and his nephew argue over crab traps; water patrol deputies search for a strange ball of light.

Those water patrol deputies might want to do a little investigating as to how “Funkie Nuts” got his nickname — could clear that case right up for them.

Kathy (Bravo 10pm) Finale

I haven’t heard anything about this being renewed, but Bravo seems to be loving Kathy Griffin right now, so I’m thinking she’ll be back.

What will you be watching tonight?

Sorry for the lack of a Tonight’s Top 10 Shows yesterday. I am experiencing some majorly frustrating and unpredictable technical difficulties. But hopefully you were all out having fun, watching fireworks, and getting somebody else to be your designated driver to even think about watching TV!

About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.
