Tonight’s Top 10 Shows: Thursday, March 22

Thursday, March 22

My dad’s favorite author, Louis L’Amour, was born on this day in 1908.

NCAA Basketball (CBS 7pm, 9:30pm) Washington vs. Syracuse/Cincinatti vs. Ohio State

I don’t follow basketball, but a lot of people seem to like it.

Missing (ABC 8pm) As the search for her son continues, Becca makes a questionable agreement with the head of French intelligence.

I didn’t know Sean Bean was in this!

American Idol (Fox 8pm) 1 of 10 voted off: The contestants face elimination; performances by Lana Del Rey and Haley Reinhart.

I never know who any of the “performances by” people are on this show anymore.

Community (NBC 8pm) Britta tries to help Jeff with his extreme narcissism; the group works as celebrity impersonators to help Abed pay down a debt.

After a kind of “meh” return last week, this episode description sounds like it will be full of win. Community’s back!

The Vampire Diaries (CW 8pm) Damon meets an old acquaintance at the Wickery Bridge restoration ceremony.

And when this show says “old acquaintance,” you know they mean it.

30 Rock (NBC 8pm, 8:30pm) Liz tries to mentor Hazel; struggling to let go of his page duties, Kenneth goes to extremes to ensure Tracy is taken care of; Jack and Jenna scheme to get Avery back in the news. Liz’s version of Jack and Avery’s romance leaves Jack confused about his feelings for Diana; Jenna and Tracy battle Weird Al Yankovic; Kenneth gets a new job at the network.

“Jenna and Tracy battle Weird Al Yankovic;” just let that sink in for a minute.

If it were me, I think I’d just let Weird Al win.

Touch (Fox 9pm) A widower and his son try to understand how a robbery at a pawn shop triggers a sequence of events that impacts people all over the world.

Honestly, save yourself an hour of precious time, and just read Bluzgirl’s recap.

Celebrity House Hunting (The Biography Channel 10pm) Debbie Gibson needs a New York pad that has a place of honor for her prized Liberace piano, plus an awesome kitchen.

The Celebrity Apprentice and Celebrity House Hunting? Methinks Debbieorah got a new agent.

Project Runway All Stars (Lifetime 10pm) Season Finale: The finalists present their collections to a VIP runway show crowd.

Join Flipit for the live tweeting, all the details of which can be found here.

Jersey Shore (MTV 10pm) Reunion: Cast members relive the highs and lows of the summer.

Broken down: 18 minutes of commercials, 20 minutes talking about Snooki being pregnant, 10 minutes of Pauly being loud and goofy, 5 minutes of Vinny pretending to be a stud, 5 minutes to remind us that Ronnie, Sammi, and JMomm actually exist, and two minutes of Deena embarrassing herself (and us, because we’re kind-hearted people deep down.) 60 minutes total of everybody pretending that it’s totally normal that Mike isn’t there because they don’t want to piss him off by alluding to the whole rehab/not rehab/kinda-sorta-rehab-but-let’s-pretend-it-isn’t thing.

What will you be watching tonight?

About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

“I don’t follow basketball, but a lot of people seem to like it.” Best summation of March Madness I have ever heard. I did last years work poll for March Madness and lost because I was using the qualities of attractiveness of the players instead of actual skill.

When was the Jersey Shore reunion actually filmed? I think the Snookie time will be divided between her being engaged and pregnant.

I don’t watch most of the shows listed in all the TT10s but these post of what to expect are just great.

I wonder what happened to Community. At one point it was one of the funniest shows I’d ever seen, seriously laugh-outloud funny. And then suddenly – poof! The magic was gone.

I cannot wait for Project Runway tonight!

I also love Louis L’Amour. I swear I fell in love with each and every Sackett that man wrote about, lol.

Normally people who pick based on skill lose, everybody knows that you pick teams based on the color of their jerseys.

Ah SuperB, the show description that contestants “face elimination; performances by Lana …” made the perfomances sound like things they faced. And rightly so.

When was the reunion taped? Must have been after the Snitch went/didn’t go into rehab. Hmmmm.

Hubbycat will be in the livingroom watching basketball while I will be trying to figure how the simul-tweet thingie works so I can get in on it while watching one of my fave shows.

We listened to Louis L’Amour audiobooks on every single long road-trip that my family took while I was growing up. And my family took a LOT of long road trips! Chick Bowdrie, Texas Ranger, was my first crush on a fictional character.

Ah, SSC, good catch re: the AI description! This is why I love you.

I don’t understand the twitter at all. I tried to use it once, and it confused the heck out of me. So have fun with that!

Oh don’t desert me, SuperB! Of course I will watch, but I would love to get in on the twitter. But I’m a twitter virgin too.

Okay, everybody, some research reveals that Mike IS in the Jersey Shore Reunion episode. Something I read yesterday made it sound like he missed the filming because of the is-it-or-isn’t-it rehab stint, but either I misunderstood or the internet lied to me. I can’t find a date for when it was filmed, but it looks like everybody will be there… until Mike storms off the stage in a fit of pique (yes, really.)

@Itchy: I thought that Community show got canceled, and I was glad, because I thought McHale would stop those awful, uncomfortable guest appearances by his co-stars on the Soup. Now the show’s BACK on, and there are MORE really unfunny guest appearances on the SOUP than ever.

I am legitimately excited about watching this! Their “fight” after he talked to Jionni was such a let down.

That picture of Weird Al REALLY looks alot like a certain person we used to hang out with, about 16 years ago. Just sayin’.

Is Deena showing up with her new face? http://www.celebitchy.com/216653/deena_from_jersey_shore_got_a_new_face_improvement_or_downgrade/
She doesn’t even look like the same person. Why would she do this to herself? She is only 25 years old.

Well, I guess now she looks more like Anjelica Huston than Joe Pesci, which is a… good thing?

Say it with me, won’t you: Deena makes me sad.

The really sad thing is, she has incredible bone structure, and if she had only lost the weight and left her face alone, I think she would have been very pretty. Sometimes on the show, when she holds her head a certain way or certain expressions cross her face, you can see how gorgeous she could be. I really hope that it’s just botox and fillers and wears off eventually!

Okay, I am watching the jersey shore “reunion” right now and it was clearly filmed a couple of months ago, like maybe even right after they finished filming. You can tell by the facial expressions of the cast that they are seeing the clips for the first time. Looking forward to the recap of it.
