Thursday, May 10

On this date in 1893, the Supreme Court’s decision in Nix v. Hedden ruled that, for legal purposes, a tomato is a vegetable.

The Big Bang Theory (CBS 8pm) Finale: The gang tries to help Wolowitz and Bernadette get married before the space launch.

Renewal status: Renewed!

American Idol (Fox 8pm) The contestants face elimination; Jennifer Lopez performs; David Cook performs.

Another JLo/Pitbull collaboration. How original.

The Vampire Diaries (The CW 8pm) Finale: Jeremy makes a life-changing decision in hope of protecting his sister; Stefan and Damon team up for a mission outside of Mystic Falls; Bonnie makes a covert, heartbreaking deal.

I’m fairly certain each of these things have happened at least once per season since the show started. Be that as it may – Renewal status: Renewed.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC 9pm) The residents choose their future positions; Mark admits to Derek that he still has feelings for Lexie; Arizona encourages her friend to have surgery.

OMG, this show! I have brain cells that I require for other purposes still storing information about the suck-fest that was George and Izzie, I refuse to give up any more for Mark and Lexie. Do you hear me, Shonda Rimes?

Person of Interest (CBS 9pm) A person of interest winds up in the middle of a dark government conspiracy that Finch is all too familiar with; Reese makes a discovery about Finch’s past.

That is all.

The Office (NBC 9pm) Finale: A former boss helps Andy go under cover and stage a coup; a new opportunity arises for Robert.

Robert California is one of the strangest, creepiest, most enigmatic television characters ever, and James Spader was the perfect choice. I can’t wait for him to no longer be on my TV. Renewal status: Uncertain; may be renewed, or spun off, or renewed and spun off.

The Secret Circle (The CW 9pm) Jake, Melissa and Adam try to save Faye from the witch hunters; Blackwell tells Cassie and Diana that they must use their dark magic to unleash the crystal skull; Dawn and Charles discover a new way to get their power back.

I thought Indiana Jones had the crystal skull…? So confused. Renewal status: I have no freaking clue.

Parks & Recreation (NBC 9:30pm) Finale: Leslie and Bobby Newport (Paul Rudd) are separated by a miniscule margin on Election Day; as everyone waits for election results, they ponder the future.

How can Leslie win and the show still be about the Parks department? Renewal status: Uncertain, but likely.

Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding (Bravo 9:30pm) Brielle gets ready for her first Homecoming dance; Kim un-invites her mother from the food tasting.

It’s not like Kim’s mom was going to show up anyway.

The Pauly D Project (MTV 10:30pm) The guys try to trick Biggie into visiting a strip club; Pauly prepares for a gig.

How do you trick someone into going to a strip club? “Hey, let’s go into this building with no windows and silhouettes of busty women plastered across the facade, they might sell… um…” I’ve got nothing. Seriously. How do you trick someone into going into a strip club?

What will you be watching tonight?

About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

SuperB, we seem to have crossover here. Grey’s Anat has Arizona which is a candidate for T&T’s goofy name blog. Also, if Arizona married Robert California from the office…

Never mind. My head is just about to explode. But that’s okay, because after reading the latest batch of T&T comments, there isn’t anything in it.

Pee ess, that is such interesting information about the tomato. Wasn’t it Reagan who declared catsup (in all its spellings) a veggie?

People who still watch Grey’s Practice (I just combine the two into a festering, odiferous lump) need to cut the dang cord and stop watching. Honestly, fans seem to dislike the show as much as those who can’t be in the same room when either show is on. And as long as the ratings are there, Rhimes will keep the original shows on life support, like drooling, incontinent brain-death cases, while she continues to create newer shows that differ only in name (and once, so far, in professional setting).
