On this day in 1626, Peter Minuit obtained Manhattan Island from the Lenape people for what would be approximately $1000 in today’s prices worth of goods.
Duets (ABC 8pm) Premiere: The stars perform with their partners.
The premise of this show is that 8 competitors vie for the opportunity to sing a duet with one of the 4 “Superstars” — Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles, and Robin Thicke. Apparently people actually volunteered for this exciting opportunity.
So You Think You Can Dance (Fox 8pm) Premiere: Dancers audition in Dallas and New York.
Season 9 of this summer-time favorite kicks off tonight.
Swamp People (The History Channel 9pm) Joe and Tommy decide to gator hunt in the morning and shrimp in the afternoon.
Life is all about prioritizing.
On the Fly (TLC 9pm) Premiere: A wheelchair passenger unleashes her wrath; a passenger travels in disguise; a supervisor must determine if a man is fit to fly.
Didn’t A&E have this exact same show a few years ago? Airline, I think? So glad that cable networks have jumped on the Hollywood bandwagon of recycling ideas.
Don’t Be Tardy For the Wedding (Bravo 9:30) Kim gets pictures taken for Kroy’s wedding gift; the Matron of Honor, Jen shirks on her duties sending Kim into a breakdown.
Jen must be an absolute mess, given how calm and collected Kim normally is.
Rookie Blue (ABC 10pm) Premiere: After a three-month suspension, Andy faces an official tribunal that will decide if she should be reinstated; a drunken driver (William Shatner) with a grudge against the police causes a multicar crash.
Awake (NBC 10pm) Finale: As Britten starts to realize the truth behind the accident, a conspiracy threatens both of his realities; Britten goes after Detective Hawkins; Dr. Lee and Dr. Evans come together in a debate that forces Britten to choose a path.
Renewal status: Cancelled, which I don’t think came a surprise to anybody.
Men at Work (TBS 10pm) Premiere: Gibbs, Neal and Tyler help their friend Milo get back in the game; Neal attempt dirty talk; Gibbs crossing the line with Tyler’s maid.
Tattoo School (TLC 10pm) Premiere: Dr. Bill Pogue tries to teach a beautician, a nurse and an 18 year-old how to tattoo in two weeks.
They practice on real people, you guys. Real. People.
The Pauly D Project (MTV 10:30) Biggie gets a ring in preparation for his marriage proposal; Pauly is asked to get his hands imprinted at Planet Hollywood.
The sad thing is, Pauly probably considers this honor on par with leaving his prints outside Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
What will you be watching tonight?

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.
Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

I thought I had had a sense of Deja vu seeing the promos for On the Fly. I saw that wheelchair passenger– she’s scary.
Here’s an idea. Send the wheelchair lady over to Tattoo School. That’ll take care of her.

Tattoo School sounds horrifying, had not heard of it. Thank you.
When I first saw the promos for On the Fly, I thought “hey, Airline is back!” Airline was just about Southwest, so I guess this is different…?

I’m not surprised that Awake was canned—Mr Cawfee and I watched the first few episodes like they were TV heroin but since its never rerun during the week, its hard to stick with it (yeah Mad Men–I am speaking to you).
But yay !!!! for SYTYCD—squeeeeeee. I love the show and even tolerate Mary and the ear-splitting shriek that passes for excitement and approval for a performer. And I heart Cat Deely very much and love her jewelry line. OK–I said it and will have my pinot in hand for all the dancin’ and need to think of a good drinking game.

On the fly is all about Southwest, again…. Sigh. Dear TLC we’re not dumb, you can’t trick us into thinking this is a new show….I’m totally still watching tho.

With as much as I think that we DO NOT need another singing show, I will totes watch Duet….ok, I will watch tonight, just to see it. But I do like Kelly Clarkson, and Jennifer Nettles…Love me some Sugarland! Loved it when she sang with Bon Jovi on Crossroads on CMT…
I am also kind of shocked that Rookie Blue is back… guess I will have to catch up…
