Tuesday, July 10
On this date in 1553, Lady Jane Grey assumed rule as the Queen of England. Although named as successor to the throne by the previous monarch, Edward IV, Jane was deposed after a mere nine days as queen due to a convoluted series of political/religious plots that had been put into play by supporters of Henry VIII’s legally illegitimate daughter, Mary. Lady Jane was later executed by beheading; she was, at most, seventeen years old at the time.
Pretty Little Liars (ABC Family 8pm) The girls believe that “A” will strike at Jenna’s birthday party; a heartbroken Hanna makes a shocking discovery.
Is it that Stop & Shop is completely out of baking powder and therefore cupcakes will become but a distant memory?
Destination Truth (SyFy 8pm) Premiere: Episode — Vietnam’s Bigfoot
I love how a show called Destination Truth ends every episode with a “nobody knows for sure/the truth is still out there” non-resolution.
Trust Us With Your Life (ABC 9pm) Premiere: Professional tennis player Serena Williams shares memories that are acted out by improvisational actors.
“So I served the ball, and then she returned it, and I had to run up and I returned it with my powerful back swing, but it was out, and then…”
Dance Moms (Lifetime 9pm) Abby’s dancers compete against Cathy’s Candy Apples for the first time this competition season; Kelly changes Paige’s solo; Jill realizes that the grass is not greener at Cathy’s studio.
The Granny Smiths, however….
White Collar (USA 9pm) Premiere: Peter tries to find Neal and Mozzie before a bounty hunter does.
Isn’t Neal’s parole up by now?
Love in the Wild (NBC 10pm) The final three couples face a challenge that includes a scorpion-filled hut, quicksand and digging for treasure; a surprise quiz at the Couples’ Choice Ceremony gives one couple the advantage.
“So much adventure and excitement. I’m sure I can figure out how to make an appropriate facial expression for that, just give me a few minutes.“
NY Med (ABC 10pm) Premiere: A woman must talk to her doctors while undergoing brain surgery; Dr. Mehmet Oz performs open heart surgery; a beautiful ER nurse faces strange cases.
I’m not sure what it says about the current state of reality television that I have to look up whether or not a show is scripted. (This one isn’t, bee-tee-dubs.)
Pregnant in Heels (Bravo 10pm) Clients ask Rosie to eliminate a ghost from a nursery; another client is afraid of labor and undergoes a virtual delivery to assuage her fears.
Rich people have waaay too much time on their hands if this is the stuff they get up to in their spare time.
Craft Wars (TLC 10pm) Episode: Barks and Crafts — The crafters must create a pet mansion out of pet toys.
Barks and Crafts. Get it? Tori Spelling is sure earning her money on this one!
Covert Affairs (USA 10pm) Annie and the rest of the staff find themselves in an unfamiliar situation.
This picture came up when I did an image search for “unfamiliar situation.” Your guess is as good as mine.

The roster of tonight’s programming make me extra happy to be on vacay without tv.
Sayyyyyyyyyyy…… That looks like Barbra before she got all ecological.
It’s a good night for me. PLL, Dance Moms and RHOC reunion.
But I may not see any of these shows because I am in a trivia tournament. Yes…I am a trivia person.
I hope we see a beheading on RHOC reunion tonight and they drag it out for three episodes!
I’ll take requests on who they want beheaded *here*….
I’m just here for that portrait of [Lady Jane] Grey. History nerd in the house.
Once again, it’s Michael Wood and the Story of England for me. Oh, and Design Star.
@Classy…what kind of trivia?
@ Sheesh…Tuesday is general trivia and Thursday is sports trivia.
Classy.
Ooooohhhh I love general trivia. LOVE it! I have all of the bathroom readers. I read snapple caps.
Good luck!
Datum I need snapple caps…
*dayum
Classy and Sheesh! I heart ya both as a fellow trivia fan. No real knowledge, but if it’s an arcane fact somebody is looking for, they call. Are you bothered at odd hours of the night to settle cocktail-fueled disputes?
And we are so in the right place!
@Sheesh…I have received a late night phone call to settle disputes. The last one was who was the actor who was recently cheating on his wife with his step granddaughter. Even though I was sleeping I immediately answered Morgan Freeman and heard a curse word or two because I believe the person calling was on the wrong side of the bet.
We only came in 4th place last night (which means no bar cash). My team doesn’t like to listen to me when I give answers about history.
We should form a ‘Gasm trivia team! I get calls from my (adult) children at all hours, too, when they are playing bar trivia! Loves me some useless knowledge!
Sorry my #12 was meant for SSC.
Ah trivia buffs, a Gasmii trivia team would be incredible. Trouble is that Google has spoiled it for us trivia nerds. My entire claim to fame, thus self-esteem and meaning of life *sigh* were tied up in trivia. Now people can google!
