Tonight’s Top 10 Shows: Wednesday, July 11

Watercooler

Wednesday, July 11

Legendary baseball player Babe Ruth began his career in Major League Baseball as a starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox on this date in 1914.

Dogs in the City (CBS 8pm) Finale: Justin and actress Edie Falco renovate an animal shelter; an aggressive dog who was once attacked; an anxious dog has difficulty remaining calm during playtime.

Edie Falco? They’re pulling out the big guns for this season finale.

So You Think You Can Dance (Fox 8pm) The top 20 finalists perform.

I felt sexually harassed just watching the commercials for this week’s episode.

Melissa & Joey (ABC Family 8pm) Mel’s friend wants Joe to be the father of her baby.

Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence co-starred in the 2009 ABC Family Original Movie™ My Fake Fiancé, and apparently their “amazing chemistry” led to this sitcom. Chick flicks have much to answer for.

Beverly Hills Nannies (ABC Family 9pm) Premiere: The competitive lives of the nannies.

It’s all about the sex with the boss/free couture ratio.

Toddlers & Tiaras (TLC 9pm) Danielle, Kayla and Kailia put it all on the line at the California Tropic Arizona pageant.

California is literally just an 8 hour drive away from any major metropolitan area in Arizona. I am embarrassed for my state.

Royal Pains (USA 9pm) Hank and Divya treat a matchmaker; Evan tries to rein in his staff; Paige plans a party; Boris works to protect his family.

You can protect your family in style by building a luxury apocalypse bunker like the one pictured above.

Final Witness (ABC 10pm) A criminal deceives his family into following him as he tries to stay ahead of the law, but when the pressure gets to be too much, his wife and three children end up dead.

The world need no longer wonder what Ann Rule books would be like with commercials.

Futurama (Comedy Central 10pm) Leela is upset when her mother starts dating Zapp Brannigan.

Remember on The Office when Michael dated Pam’s mom. It’s like that, except it will be funny.

Restaurant: Impossible (The Food Network 10pm) A family restaurant struggling financially; owners and staff struggle emotionally.

This show is where people who didn’t make the Kitchen Nightmares roster go.

Necessary Roughness (USA 10pm) Dani works with an illusionist; Ray J and Lindsay find out about Dani’s relationship with Matt; TK gets into a Twitter flame war.

I’m disappointed every week when this show continues to not be about a dominatrix.

About

After giving birth to her fourth child, SuburBint carefully weighed the options and decided that recapping reality TV was probably a better choice in the long run than alcoholism. Liver function tests have yet to confirm the wisdom of this decision. Being an honest-to-goodness recapper is also a dream come true, as she has aspired to do this ever since discovering that such a thing existed way back in 2002.

Her favorite shows of all time include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Coupling, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Firefly, Community, Parks and Recreation, Doctor Who, and Veronica Mars. She can also quote The Big Lebowski in its entirety, and will do so with little to no provocation.

The problem with reading your hilarious “Top 10″ every day, SuburBint, is that usually I’m at work and must control the inevitable guffaws. This results in a weird sort of “Whoomph-Cough,” which often leads to concerned coworkers popping their heads over the little cubicle wall to see if I’m OK. Just wanted to give you a general thanks and let you know your work is appreciated; it’s great to start the day with a laugh!

On day five without tv on vacay, Hubbycat got himself checked into the hospital where he knew there would be reception. He’s in lots of discomfort with an obstructed bowel (ya know what that means. I’ve been telling him…). Too bad T&T is on after visiting hours.

Oh, SSC, I hope hubbycat gets better soon. I’m a nurse and I know just how much that can hurt and I hope he’s getting some good pain medicine.

And SuperB, I sometimes fail to tell you but you’re Top 10′s crack me up every day and I so look forward to them, especially after a hard 12 hour shift at the hospital. It gives me a few laughs and makes all the bad stuff I just saw just a little bit better.

I enjoy the trivia stuff, too. Alot. And sometimes I leave comments (most of the time) but my Google chrome eats them up and they never publish. Anyways, keep up all the good stuffs!

FYI, I’ve already taken my Ambien so I’ll check back after I wake up to see if any of that made sense. :)

Thanks lindy! You and SuperB have lots in common with the nursing and the funny-ness. And the trivia, where I claim my only sad little fame.

Huubycat is now not only full of the obvious, but some heavy duty goofie meds. Morphine did nothing so they gave him something that begins with the letter L (ah Sesame Street, where it all begam).

Isn’t T&T it’s own version of a bowel obstruction?!?!?! Can’t wait for it tonight – the show, not the bowel obstruction.

@snowshoecat – hope hubbycat gets better soon!

Ah yes, the other sh… Wish I could watch, but I’ll get on the Twitterchat and see if I can figure out what’s going on from that! Ought to be interesting!

    Thanx everybody!

Thanks for the love, guys! This has been a particularly difficult week when it comes to writing my Top 10 due to computer issues, and your expressions of gratitude and appreciation will be a huge encouragement to keep pushing through in spite of my stupid MacBook and it’s stupid “You want me to charge when I’m plugged in? Ha!” attitude.

Hoping hubbycat recovers quickly, SSC, and that the pain meds put him in a nice, cozy stupor, so that when you visit he hands over the TV remote with nary a complaint. :-)

Yes, SuperiorB we DO love you! TV Guideless has nothing on your pithy comments. Your poor thumbs!

Thanks for the remote advice. Too bad the hospital is more than an hour away and I’ll be in bed when the show is on. Someone, however, has advised me that now is the time to get him to put his signature on a document giving me my heart’s desire.

I’m thinking of something in terms of having him always and forever admitting that I am, in fact, right.

Too bad you’re not vacationing on the set of Royal Pains. The guy’s a regular Doctor Macguyer. Makes us giggle every episode.

“Quick! I need a toothpick, a pile of old socks and a tampon!”

Itchy, hmmmmm that sounds suspiciously like what the doc said just before I left.

    I’d better call.

Well, it worked! Of course his roomie is less than thrilled. He took one look at the hottie, said “holy sh…” and the rest is, as they say, history.

Thank you all for the good vibes!

Before I turn in for the evening, I just wanted to let you guys know how much your comments impacted my day. I’m not gonna lie, sometimes this particular gig is kind of a drag (especially now that there are such slim pickings on the TV listings thanks to stupid summer programming) but knowing that people not only enjoy reading it but even look forward to it put an extra spring in my step and twinkle in my eye all day long. You are seriously awesome, every single one of you. XOXO

Well, we love you back, oh Superior Bee. Now all you have to do is get the ball rolling to lure KM or some other nut case to jump in with outrageous comments. The elite 100 can be yours too. Let’s see is we can all work on something for you to bring up as bait.
