I’m pretty sure they won’t bring this up on the Joan of Arc special but the most fascinating thing about her to me is that her right hand man was Blue Beard, famous for having sodomized and killed somewhere between 600-800 little boys while in service to Joan (Jean). He use to keep their heads in a trunk filled with salt so he could compare the ones he thought were the “prettiest”. I haven’t read my books for a while but I believe he was executed at the age of 24? Busy little bugger. Years ago ,I had a subscripstion to Doubleday-$1 books- and no further obligations. Couldn’t find a last Sci-fi book so I went for the Biography of the Marquis De Sade. It was really good. I read dozens of others. Then I moved on to the “real Dracula”, Erzebet Bathory. It turns out I already knew one of her relatives in Austria. Then on to Blue Beard, the Inquisition. Oh those Christians. Crazier than bed bugs.14th-17th c were Crazee.
