Happy birthday to your adorable daughter, SB!
Awww BabyBint is adorable.
Happy birthday, BabyBint!!!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
Thank you for the birthday wishes for BabyBint and the admiration of her remarkable cuteness.
I’ll admit it, I’m biased and think that all of my children are remarkably good looking, but BabyBint has a certain twinkle in her eye that means MisterBint had better start oiling the shotgun in preparation for her adolescence.
She is our “miracle baby” — while pregnant with her, I had to unexpectedly have brain surgery and was on a major medication regimen for most of my pregnancy. She was born a bit smaller than my other kids (7lbs instead of 8lbs +) but other than that, she suffered no ill effects. We named her Abigail, which translates as “her father’s delight,” but she is the delight of our entire household; I have never had such a happy, joyful, contented baby. Yes, I’m gushing, but she is beyond a blessing to our family, and we can’t imagine life without her! So today is a huge celebration for all of us, and I love having the Gasmii be a part of it, albeit long distance, anonymous, and brief.
BabyBint is very cute.
As for the Olympics…first, I didn’t know until recently that the winners had to pay taxes on the medals as “income.” Second, why do so many people say “pummel horse” instead of “pommel.” Drives me crazy.
@cattyfan, the U.S. athletes don’t pay income tax on the actual medal, they pay on the cash money they get for winning a medal. Snopes says that the U.S. Olympic Committee rewards U.S. athletes $25K for gold, $15K for silver, and $10K for bronze The story that went around presupposed a 35 percent tax level (the highest possible level), and it’s unlikely any of the medalists will earn in excess of $388K this year, unless they get a really sweet endorsement deal, so the amount they’ll owe is unlikely to be anywhere near the $9K cited in the story.
Your daughter and my nephew have the same birthday 12 years apart!
Pegalicious…thanks for the clarification. The story I read was not specific, and made it sound as though the medal was taxed.
I saw a similar story and had the same reaction, cattyfan; fortunately, Snopes addressed it in their weekly email and it actually stuck in my little brain, despite its increasing resemblance to a sieve!
Happy Birthday, Abigail!!
