Yes… 800 episodes of COPS! Tonight on FOX, at 8pm, is it’s 23rd season premiere. Why is it still on? What makes this one of the longest running shows on TV? Well that’s easy… it’s all those idiots that get arrested. None of them can keep their pants up… underwear is always hanging out. The prostitutes always end up being dudes in drag. The pot smokers always swear there’s nothin’ in the car & have a bag of weed stuffed in their mouth. We shake our heads at these idiots & when someone we know is on the show, we call all of our friends & make sure to tape it!

America’s Most Wanted (FOX 9pm) premieres it’s 24th season at “Ground Zero”. Host John Walsh returns to the site of the 9-11 World Trade Center disaster. The show will focus on the aftermath of that fateful day, but Walsh will also profile American born & raised Adran G. El Shukrijumah. He is on the FBI “most wanted terrorist” list for the attempted bombing of a NY subway station. Walsh said they did 44 episodes last year & caught 60 people… 5 in one week. He also says they’ve caught 17 “FBI Most Wanted” over the years. Walsh, when asked, says he’ll keep doing it as long as the ratings are good…. he has a kid to put thru college.
The History Channel is also spending it’s whole programming day re-visiting the tragic events of 9-11, for those who want to try & understand just what happened that terrible day in our American history & how it still affects us today.
If you’ve never watched NBC’s Parenthood, then tonight’s the night to catch up on it before it’s season premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 14th. They will be airing a 3-episode marathon starting at 8pm. Any show with Peter Krause is worth a look & this is actually good.
A&E is doing much the same with it’s new cop/detective show The Glades. It also starts at 8pm. I’m really liking this series. Matt Passmore as Det. Jim Longworth, is kinda like House, but more snarky than mean.

The biggest marathon is CMT’s 12-hour Dukes of Hazzard shows which starts at 2pm this afternoon & goes on till the wee hours of the morning. The real Bo, Luke & Daisy Duke (yes… the original cut-off shorts fame) are jumping creeks & smashing more 1969 Dodge Chargers that it’s almost criminal.
Other Saturday mini-marathons are 3-hours of Food Network Challenge starting at 8pm & TLC has Cake Boss which also starts at 8pm.
For the rest of you… there’s NASCAR in Richmond, on ABC at 7:30pm. U.S. Open Tennis: Women’s Final on CBS at 8pm…. and LOTS of College Football on all the ESPN channels.
If you like it, spread it!:

Ah Cops — we have spent many a lonely Saturday night together, no?
My favorite Cops episodes are the domestic violence ones. Inevitably there will be woman with a black eye, holding a baby with on hand and a cigarette with the other while spitting out her teeth as her husband/boyfriend (usually about 5 ft 4in) literally crying that the handcuffs are too tight and they ‘huuuurt’. You can tell that had the cameras not been there, said abuser just may have accidentaly fell down the stairs/ran into a wall/tripped on the sidewalk on their way to jail hahahahaha.
Ah, memories….
