We’ve been dabbling in new shows for the past week… one here, one there… but tonight it’s ON! Get your DVR ready. If you don’t have one, now is the time to call your cable company or your dish provider & get one. You don’t want to miss out on all that’s coming our way this week. Tonight we have sitcoms, dramas & reality… and they are all NEW! Let’s get started.

I’ve decided to list all shows by time. That way you can see what each of your favorites are competing against. There are 5 new shows… 4 dramas & one sitcom. It will be interesting to see how these newbies do in the ratings. The first hour is returning shows fighting for your viewership.

Dancing-With-The-Stars-Season-11-500x411

8pm:

House (FOX) starts it’s 7th season. Titled “Now What?” seems appropriate. The “Huddy” romance is in bloom & House doesn’t feel like working. We find out what’s in that letter Thirteen left on his desk too.

Chuck (NBC) is full of guest stars in “Chuck vs the Anniversary”. Chuck & Morgan go looking for his mom & Linda Hamilton is mom. There’s also Dolph Lundgren & Harry Dean Stanton. Olivia Munn joins the cast.

How I Met Your Mother (CBS) It’s season 6 and the show is going back to it’s roots… finding out who “mother” is. No more flashbacks. This opening episode finds Ted at a wedding & Cindy (Rachel Bilson), mom’s roommate is there. This starts the premise for the whole season.

Dancing With the Stars (ABC) For it’s 11th season, we get to see the couples dance the Viennese Waltz & the Cha-Cha. I still don’t understand why Bristol Palin is even on this show.

8:30pm:

Rules of Engagement (CBS) For it’s 5th season, they have a new day & time. Instead of moving from time-slot to time-slot & only 13 episodes, “Rules” is finally full time with 22 shows! Jaime Pressly returns as Jeff & Audrey’s surrogate mom & she has a slight problem.

event2

9pm:

The Event (NBC) This new series promises to be a cross between LOST & 24, hopefully filling a void left by these two departed shows. Boasted as a “politically charged thriller”, it jumps right into the “event”, but we aren’t told what it is, just the repercussions caused by it. Numerous flashbacks build the suspense that leads to this “event”. Blair Underwood is Pres. Elias Martinez & he must deal with the “event”. Jason Ritter (John’s kid) is looking for his girlfriend, who was lost during the “event”. How are these two connected…. by the “event” of course! Check out a Trailer Trash of the show here.

lonestar2

Lone Star (FOX) A con man going straight? Now that’s different. This new series is all about having your cake & eating it too. Bob Allen (James Wolk) wants to get out of the family con business, but maintain his lifestyle & his “duel identities”. We’ll have to see how that works for him. Check out a Trailer Trash of this show here.

Two & a Half Men (CBS) Charlie Sheen managed to dodge the jail time & return to his hit show just in time for the fall premiere. In the 8th season opener, Charlie decides it’s time to cut back on his drinking. Hmmmm…. reality check?

mike&molly1

9:30pm:

Mike & Molly (CBS) New sitcom about average working class fat people. Wasn’t that Roseanne? Our stars meet at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting & Molly invites Officer Mike Biggs to speak to her 4th grade class. Of course, they fall in love. I expect lots of fat jokes, but I’m hoping that executive producer Chuck Lorre (2 1/2 Men & Big Bang Theory) brings us more than that. A Trailer Trash of this one is here.

hawaii5-0a

10pm:

Hawaii 5-O (CBS) “Book ‘em Danno!” I can hear it now. This new series/remake is one of the most anticipated shows of the season. Alex O’Loughlin is Det. Steve McGarrett & Scott Caan plays Det. “Danno”. These two head up a new secret anti-terrorist/anti-crime unit & answer to no one but Gov. Jameson (Jean Smart). This allows them to fight the bad guys as they see fit. McGarrett can also hunt down the terrorist who killed his dad on the side. Another Trailer Trash here.

Castle (ABC) In the 3rd season premiere, partners/lovers Beckett & Castle have their guns pointed at each other in the opening scene. Beckett’s still a tad pissed that he ran off to the Hamptons last season with his ex-wife. Now she’s going to arrest him as a suspect in a murder. Seems he’s holding the murder weapon. A woman scorned… it could get ugly!

chase2

Chase (NBC) This new action-adventure series is all about U.S. Marshals hunting down fugitives. This is the latest show produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (CSI) & is set in the heart of Texas. Kelli Giddish plays Marshal Annie Frost & she’s in charge of finding the “most wanted” criminals in America. Expect lots of action & little plot. The Trailer Trash for Chase is here.

I will probably stick with the CBS sitcom line-up & DWTS. I don’t know about all these dramas. None of them have really grabbed my interest. Let me know what you think… okay? Maybe if any of you like them ,….then I’ll give ‘em a shot.

Tomorrow’s another big night with the return of Glee (FOX), NCIS (CBS) & Biggest Loser (NBC). Three new shows will also premiere… Raising Hope (FOX), Running Wild (FOX) & Detroit 187 (ABC). More on all of them tomorrow.

Thanks Cooch, there is nowhere enough room on my DVR to get everything I want. I have one girlfriend who has two dvr’s to catch it all. That may be over the line… I can control my addiction.
