TVland has not let us forget for one minute that they have Betty White. They have promoted her and her show non-stop for months.

Well kids, tonight’s the night. Hot in Cleveland returns for it’s second season at 10pm. Not only that, but they have clinched the biggest guest star ever. Even bigger than Piers Morgan getting Oprah. They’ve got MARY TYLER MOORE! They’ve put her in jail with Betty White. If that isn’t comedy gold than I don’t know what is!
The new sitcom Retired at 35 premieres right after at 10:30pm. Hoping to cash in on the success of Hot in Cleveland‘s old style sitcom corniness, you can expect the same mentality when it comes to jokes. It veteran stars are George Segal and Jessica Walter who live in a Florida retirement community. Jonathan McCain plays their 35 yr. old son who decides to give up his life as an executive in NYC & moves in with mom and dad. By show’s end, he’s already slepts with a geriatric neighbor.

Nova scienceNow on PBS starts it’s new season, at 8pm, by exploring the possiblities of sending humans to Mars and the difficulties of providing sufficient water plus nutrition. The fact that they would need enough to last at least 2 to 3 years is, as Mr. Spock would say, “Fascinating”. There are also such dangers as bone and muscle deterioration, space radiation and meteoroids. Let’s not forget the Martians!

The premiere of Restaurant Impossible airs tonight at 10pm on the Food Network. Chef Robert Irvine will try to help failing restaurants across the country get back on their feet. Does this sound familiar to you? It kind of does to me. But I’m sure it’s nothing like any of Gordon Ramsey’s shows. I can’t imagine Chef Irvine ever calling anyone a f*cking moron. I will give it a look and let you know.

For those of you who have been in a coma for the past month, tonight is the season #10 premiere of American Idol on FOX, at 8pm. Two brand-new judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler join Randy Jackson as the first night of auditions begin. The big question on everybody’s mind is, “Will it work?” We’ll just have to wait and see.
To counteract the Idol threat, all the other networks have new programming on tonight. No repeats, so that’s a good thing.
The season finale of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew airs tonight at 10pm on VH1. Janice Dickerson, Leif Garrett, Jason Davis, Eric Roberts and the rest of the crew get to decide if they want to continue on with treatment or go back to the real world. No reunion show afterward because it’s just been announced that Dr. Drew has caught a viral infection over the weekend so there will be no update.
