TV Patrol: The New Season Begins….

This week officially begins the New Fall Season. It begins slowly but as the weeks go by it will get excitingly fast paced. I will try to give you a heads-up so that you don’t miss anything. So check here before you set your DVR. Let’s get the shows on the road!

Thintervention

Thintervention with Jackie Warner premieres tonight at 10:15pm on BRAVO, right after the conclusion reunion of Real Housewives of NJ at 9pm. For those of you who don’t know Ms. Warner, she had a reality show, Work Out, on the same network for 3 seasons, which was canceled under some controversy in 2007. Well… she’s back & ready to “inspire” lifestyle changes to eight snobby, well-to-do clients including RHWOC‘s Jeana Keough. She sends them thru a brutal obstacle course & cuts off their sugar. Their pissing & moaning causes a rebellion & the indulgence of sweet delights. Sounds like a train wreck to me.

The 2nd season of my guilty pleasure show Hoarders airs on A&E tonight at 9 & 10pm. The previews promise a home so far gone that the authorities have to be called. I used to watch knowing that there are those out there who are worse housekeepers than myself. Now, after watching a full season, I find these people more than just “hoarders” but people with serious mental issues & some are just downright lazy. The show is starting to creep me out.

The sixth & final season of TLC’s Little People Big World premieres at 8pm with two episodes. The Roloff’s are calling it quits because “it’s time to move on”. They don’t say so in the show & the first episode deals with last season’s attempt at a cliffhanger. They tried to make us believe that Matt had a heart attack, but it was so badly done, it was laughable… a sure sign the end was near… for the show that is. I hope Matt nailed out a contract that’ll help pay for that mansion he built…. or we’ll be seeing a “for sale” sign on the farm. Pumpkins don’t bring in what they used to.

At 8:30pm, CBS has Jim Belushi & Jerry O’Connell hosting the CBS Fall Preview Show which promotes their new series The Defenders (Sept. 22) plus clips from 4 other new shows Hawaii Five-0 (Sept. 20), Blue Bloods (Sept. 24), Mike & Molly (Sept. 20) & #$%^ My Dad Says (Sept. 23). I’ll fill you in on the descriptions of these show as they premiere.

So it begins… are you ready for it?

    YES… I am so sick of reruns and missing shows! Where is my House, my Bones, my Castle???? I am DVRing all of the above but the preview show… I tried but to much was happening. TheHubby hates it when I double record stuff so he cannot watch sports! I tell him to go to his room… there is a tv in there too.
    Thank youn for doing this Chooch… I don’t want to miss a thing.

    And Jackie Warner looks strange in that boy shorts outfit….. like a MAN. And now I hafta go find out the what what on her show being cancelled before. Must have been all the criminally insane chicks she dated… oh and the abuse shown on tv from it… my my how the New Jersey Housewives have tempered our view.

    Yecch. Jackie looks so much manlier than she used to–more heavily muscled. And her face looks horrible–like she’s been hitting the Botox or plastic surgery.

    I simply love hoarders and wish someone would recap it. I find these people to be extremely self centered and wonder if some type of narcissism paired with immaturity is the route of their issues From all the parents I know and my own experience, I know that all kids are hoarders – they would save everything and they expect their parents to save everything too.

    And didn’t Jillian Michaels co own the sky gym featured in Work Out with Jackie? I thought I had heard they were business and possibly life partners at one time.

    @chemgal – I love hoarders as well. Tonight though I have to feel especially sorry for Sir Patrick – he is just so sad and lonely. And then to find out his collections are worthless!
    But evil bastard that I am I just had to laugh when the therapist said that all Sir Patrick really wanted was a woman to share his life with. If she had said a lady boy from Thailand maybe she would be onto someting…

    Ohralphie, we are on the same page where Sir Patrick is concerned. How sad. If only he could be honest with himself he could have a chance at happiness.

    Jackie had a show on Bravo called Workout. She turned into a megalomaniac once the show became a huge hit. She started treating her employees really badly especially one of her trainers in particular. The straw that broke it all for me was when she made fun of a woman who had a boob job that had survived breast cancer. The boyfriend overheard the comments and confronted it immediately. The woman Jackie made fun of also happened to be a friend of the trainer that she didn’t like. He didn’t like what happened, confronted her about, she pulled the “I’m the boss” card and fired him. I was so offended by how she handled herself on these issues and some others that I signed onto the Bravo message board to express my displeasure. That was back in November of 2007. I won’t watch anything she is connected with to this day.

    Well, she sure is ugly now. Maybe it’s karma.

    I read recently (after that woman died in her house and nobody could find her because of the stuff she hoarded) that hoarding is a symptom of an inability to function normally, make decisions, etc. I believe it is a way of retreating and “protecting” yourself. Of course, the animal hoarders think that they are helping the animals and it gets out of hand. I could see depression could be a component of hoarding as well, and depressed people tend to be self-absorbed (which is different from narcissism–narcissism is not the same as self-centeredness).

    Thanks Chooch for the heads up. Thanks Giff, I too wondered what the deals was with Miss Jackie’s workout show.

    @ Pixie, my sister told me about that lady who died. Crazy. I have a friend who is 32 and lives with her mother(60ish?), older sister (42), and younger sister (28) and they are def hoarders. There house is terrible. There are most definitely mental disorders in that home. My friend has been diagnosed bi-polar and has been committed a few times. I know her mother is not all there as well. It is so crazy how their house has changed in the last 10 years. I have not been in their house probably in year, I’d be nervous to see it now. The last time I went there, they have 2 couches and a love seat in their living room and there was only room for me to sit on a corner of the love seat and one seat her mom always sits on, on the couch. My friend had to sit on a step stool. Pretty sad. 10+ years ago before I even knew the word hoarders and that they were, well crazy, I used to wish someone would come do a study on them and why they live like that.
