‘Tis the Season! The  2010 MTV Video Music Awards are on tonight. It’s the 27th time for these awards & they are NEVER boring.The awards with start at 9pm on both MTV & VH1. The pre-show 2010 MTV VMA Red Carpet should prove to be just as exciting with all the outrageous fashions.

How can we forget last year, when Kanye West took over the stage from a shocked Taylor Swift, as she tried to accept her first ever “Best Female Vocalist” award? Rumor has it that Taylor will once again take the stage, confronting her nemesis in song. It’s being kept under tight wraps just what this song will be. Kanye, in an effort to take advantage of the publicity, took to Twitter, once again, apologizing for his bad manners last year. He’s even written his own song saying: “I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that’s so beautiful & I want her to have it. If she won’t take it, then I’ll perform it for her.” Whether he sings it tonight is still not known.

These two are the “big winners”. Lady GaGa has 13 nominations including “Best Pop Video”, “Best Female Video”, & “Video of the Year”. Eminem as 8 noms, including “Best Male Video” & also “Video of the Year”. Lady GaGa is the first female to have 2 different videos in the”Video of the Year” category. They are Bad Romance & Telephone. So which of these  2 Super-songsters will end up on top?

Other than the planned performances by Taylor & Kanye, others will be joining in the fun. Justin Bieber gets his shot at it, as does Drake, Florence & the Machine, B.o.B, Usher, Linkin Park, Paramore & of course, Mary J. Blige. I’ve never heard a note out of Justin Bieber’s mouth so now’s my chance to see & hear what all the fuss is about.

With trash-mouth talk show host Chelsie Handler pairing up with the MTV Man on the Moon as the evening’s host … it’s truly a match made in heaven. This should be the best year EVER!

Those of you not interested in tonight’s awards, there are other shows on… quite a few finales, as a matter of fact…..

True Blood at 9pm, doesn’t tie up too many loose ends as it winds up it’s 3rd season on “finale night” at HBO. It’s followed by Hung at 10pm, finishing up it’s 2nd season & Entourage at 10:30pm wrapping up it’s 7th year. My Boys on TBS at 10:30pm also has it’s finale tonight.

CBS has Big Brother 12 at 8pm. It’s a “clip show” of the season’s most exciting (LOL) moments! It’s finale is next Wednesday.

AMC has new episodes of Rubicon (9pm) & Mad Men (10pm). The Glades on A&E is new at 10pm & for laughs… E! has a new Keeping Up With the Kardashians at 10pm.

….. and it’s Sunday so there’s Sunday Night Football on NBC at 8pm. It’s the Dallas Cowboys at the Washington Redskins.

    This show gets more boring and irrelevant every year. Seriously, reduced to a performance by the Beebs?!?! So glad Kayne took the mic from Taylor last year; at least that gives everyone something to talk about until more exciting artists start making appearances at these awards again. I guess if they actually show artist and music on the channel other than at the VMA’s, it would give everyone something to look forward to … hoping off my soapbox

    I think, me, I ,,, think the star of the show was the stage. The graphic use of light and shadow… amazing. The Huge arcing tents… genius. The floor totally rocked and made the performances. Poor Rachel Zoe must be having more fits with all these white stages and white carpets and white lights.

    Oh what disappointment….Chelsie Handler was a dud… she was out of place there & not very funny. There wasn’t any videos to watch & the performers were from the D-List. Only Eminem was worth my time but man he’s looking old! I did love seeing Cher, but GaGa’s “meat” out fit … was that suppose to be shocking? The Beatles did that back in 1966 with their “Yesterday & Today” album. As for fashion, I give Katy Perry my “best dressed” for her little black & white mini.

    @chooch850 I thought I was the only one who thought “what a D list extravaganza” I mean Eminem performs and leaves and the best Chelsie can do is get out the hot tub with the Jersey Shore pregnant? OY When a dress made from Home Depot trashbags and a black man in black face can even create enough day after buzz there is a problem. All of this has been done before; everyone is somebody relevant from the ninetie’s light.. Ke$ha v Pink, Gaga v Madonna, Justin Bieber v Aaron Carter (although I give beebs extra points for not being as lame)

    yes, Chelsie HAndler didn’t do much for me either. I will be watching what the critics and authorities say about her performance.
