It seems Sunday has become a night FULL of spectacular new shows and season premieres. I almost feel I need to dress up for this evening’s events. Please feel free to look over the schedule I’ve prepared while I look for what shoes to wear with my burgundy sweatpants. Most likely my Reebok sneakers. Oh dear, maybe I should just wear my leopard print Snuggie and my white bunny slippers. Please, let me know what you decide to wear watch.

NBC has a big night planned for us. It starts off at 8pm with a new reality style competition series. America’s Next Great Restaurant will appeal to those of you who are fans of such shows as Top Chef or Project Runway, which were produced by these same people. To start, twenty one restaurateurs must pitch their concepts of what they want their place to be and then cook their signature dish. Eleven will be goners, thus “trimming the fat”. Bobby Flay, Curtis Stone, Lorena Garcia and Steve Ells are the “investors and mentors”, but we all know that’s bullshit. They’re the judges. Will I be watching? If the cooking segments are action-packed, I’ll probably DVR it. There is just so much to watch. It’s competition is a new show on ABC, the cartoons on FOX and The Amazing Race on CBS.

Celebrity Apprentice follows at 9pm for it 4th season, but it’s officially the 11th season of The Apprentice franchise on NBC. It’s the “Season of the Crazies”. I won’t list all of the celebrities who are on the show this time around, but I will say that this is the most recognizable batch ever, and I don’t mean because of a lack of plastic surgery either. They’ve all had some extensive work done. LaToya Jackson was telling Joy Behar on her show last night, that NeNe Leakes was Star Jones lap dog, her bidding. If Star would have stopped too soon, NeNe would have gone right up her ass. We shall have to see. For the first task, the teams have to run a pizza joint. Let the meltdowns begin! I will definitely be watching this show. It’s competitions are the FOX cartoons, ABC’s Desperate Housewhores and CBS’s Undercover Boss.

ABC has brought back Secret Millionaire for it’s second season at 8pm. Yes, the millionaires are back amongst us less fortunate, toughing it out, while trying to find someone who is deserving of their money. In the first episode, self-made millionaire Dani Johnson, who used to collect welfare and live out of her car, goes to Knoxville, Tenn. and spends a week helping out at the LOVE Kitchen. It’s run by 82 yr. old twin sisters Helen Ashe and Ellen Turner. They are a non-profit charity that feeds the home bound, homeless and the unemployed daily. This story even caught Oprah’s attention and she had them and Dani on the show. She gave the twins all new appliances for their kitchen and got Krogers grocery store to donate a year’s supply of food. As for the show, it gave them a check at the end, but I read that Dani gave them another check for $100,000 of her own money as well. I will not be watching this show. As of this posting, both twin sisters are in the hospital with the flu and Ellen has developed pneumonia.

A&E has a new drama premiering tonight at 10pm. Breakout Kings is described as an unconventional team that is formed when two U.S. Marshal’s hire three convicted felons to help track escaped convicts. The three had all previously escaped from prison, so they are qualified for the job. The Marshals promise them a month off their sentence for each capture. Doesn’t sound like much of a deal to me. This show is written and produced by Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora from FOX’s Prison Break. It seems they will be bringing back one of Prison Break’s most notorious characters. Theodore “T-Bag” Bagwell, played by Robert Knepper. He will revise the role of the pedophile, white supremacist for a 4-episode arc of the 13 episode series. What do Prison Break fans think of this?

Animal Planet is Taking on Tyson at 10pm. We are going to see Mike Tyson like we’ve never seen him before. The cameras are going to follow him to his old neighborhood in Jersey City. Tyson has always loved raising and breeding pigeons and has done so since childhood. It played an integral part in his life. He threw his first punch when a neighborhood bully killed one of his pigeons and then threw it in his face. He beat the hell out of him. Now, for the first time, Tyson will learn to train his pigeons to race, something he’s never done before. I’m sure this will play again during the week, so I will eventually watch it. I am curious.

Lifetime has the 5th season premiere of Army Wives at 9pm. Denise is preparing to meet her daughter-in-law. Emmalin leaves for college. Pamela considers a job offer in Atlanta and a second chance with Chase. T.J.’s behavior makes Roxy crazy. Joan and Roland discuss the future. Frank, Michael, Jeremy and Trever are all in Afghanistan. This is definitely soap opera material. No wonder it’s the #1 Nielson cable show. I’m sure it’s ratings will be thru the roof again this season.

Lifetime has a new show premiering at 10pm called Coming Home. Get out your tissue boxes for this one kids. It’s definitely a tearjerker. This 13-episode reality series follows U.S. Soldiers, from all 5 branches of the Armed Forces, and their surprise return home from long tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Former American Idol Matt Rogers will serve as the host. There will be five reunions on every show. Cameras will follow the soldiers and their families, building up to the “surprise” get together. I wonder how they explain the cameras?

Bravo has the 6th season of Real Housewives of Orange County premiering tonight at 10pm. I won’t pretend like I know these housewhores, because I don’t. I will leave that up to Flipit. Let me just say that there is a newbie from what I’ve heard. I may be wrong though. Her name is Peggy Tanous. Other news is that Lynn is gone. Gretchen is designing handbags. Alexis is starting a new business. Vicki’s marriage is unraveling. Tamra has ditched Simon and has a new man.

TLC is known for giving us shows that let us look at the lives of people who are a little bit different. Tonight at 10 & 10:30pm it’s Heavily Ever After. Freddie and Kay Combs are what the medical profession consider “morbidly obese”. Freddie is so large that he is confined to a wheelchair for the most part. As with most of their shows, TLC shows that these people live normal lives in spite of their limitations. In the first episode, the couple throw a dinner party. I watched a clip of another episode where the two go “antiquing” with Freddie in the wheelchair. It was like a bull in a china shop.

Speaking of the obese, Ruby is back for her 4th season on Style at 8pm. This season she’s tackling her man problems, meaning her ex-boyfriend Denny. It starts with her dragging him off to couples counseling with Dr. Jane. Poor Denny, the dude doesn’t have a chance. But she has other issues too. Seems Ruby has gained back 60 pounds. Now she has to figure why and how she’s going to work to get back on track again.

Comedy Central has Daniel Tosh: Happy Thoughts at 9pm. Daniel Tosh from Tosh.O does his stand-up routine in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. It’s repeated again at 10pm. I’m a HUGE fan so I will watch this no matter what. Even if I have to miss Big Love or Shameless!
There it is kids. One of the biggest Sundays since the Fall season started. So what will you be watching? Anything new that interests you?
If you like it, spread it!:

I’m very excited that Celebrity Apprentice is back on! I’m over and done with watching unknown fame whores struggle for glory on reality shows; I’ve moved on to wanting to watch formerly known fame whores struggle for glory. David Cassidy, don’t let dow the 7-year-old-me!
You’re right that the “job applicants” are certainly more familiar than in the past. The only two that I couldn’t recognize in your photos were the two with phallic objects in their mouth. Coincidence or correlation? Discuss.
I just finished watching America’s Next Great Restaurant and I’m looking forward to the next episode. There were a lot of restaurant concepts in there that I would love to visit.
My favorites, so far, are the waffle idea and the grilled cheese idea. Hmmm… what sounds good right now is a grilled cheese sandwich made with waffles.
I hope you guys are going to recap this show.
