Uncle Poodle Reveals He’s HIV Positive

I just read that Honey Boo Boo’s Lee Thompson aka Uncle Poodle is HIV Positive. He opened up about it to an Atlanta gay magazine. He said, “On March 16, 2012, I tested negative. Then, in May of 2012 my test results came back positive. I knew it had been my boyfriend who infected me. I later learned he had been HIV positive and was not taking medication and had not bothered to tell me about it. I was advised that I should press charges and, hesitantly, I did. It was the right thing to do. I would have been cool with his HIV status if he had been honest. I don’t have an issue with the disease. I would have known how to protect myself.”

Doesn’t this story break your heart? I love Uncle Poodle. I think coming out with this story was very brave of him, and I sincerely hope he can stay healthy as long possible. So sad.

    That is just cruel. Uncle Poodle is one of best thangs about that show. Hope he gets the best medical care. That boyfriend is a POS.

    That’s awful.
    I don’t understand how people can do that to others.
    I hope the boyfriend rots in jail and that Uncle Poodle takes good care of himself.

    People who knowingly do this to other human beings with complete disregard need to be charged with murder. How can you do that to someone on purpose?Heartbreaking. I’m glad he’s pressing charges. You don’t get to go around just fucking up peoples lives like that and get away with it.

    This made me want to throw up. And cry for Uncle Poodle and all of his family that loves him. Thank God they’ve got some $ coming in so he’ll be able to buy the medicine.

    I’m glad he pressed charges.

    Oh no! Not Poodle! That is terrible – and for someone to do that on purpose.

    At least he has a family that loves and accepts him and hopefully the meds today will provide him with a long life. Let’s all send good vibes Poodle’s way! :)

    MR Z says that Sugar Bear was written out of the show!! WTF??

    As for Poodle, that honestly is shit! I am glad that he filed charges against that shit sack of a scumbag! I hope they throw the book at him. Sad, just sad! Hope Uncle Poodle can get treatment, and live a long long life..

    This is so sad! We love Uncle Poodle! :( For someone to do this on purpose is just unthinkably disgusting. Hopefully he’ll get good medical care and will live a good long life HIV positive, but AIDS free. I hope his ex-Asshole rots in jail.

    This truly makes me sad. Y’all know how much I love the whole Honey Boo Boo fam. And for someone as sweet and caring as Lee to have been betrayed like that by someone he trusted just breaks my heart. Here’s hoping that he takes care of himself and stays healthy. The great thing is that we know just how loving and supportive his family is, so that’s a huge part of the battle already won.

    I don’t watch this show, and have no love for the family…but my prayers are with “Uncle Poodle.” It sounds like he got screwed over in the worst possible way, and I’m very sorry for that.
