Showtime canceled United States of Tara, but renewed Nurse Jackie. I’m happy about the Nurse Jackie renewal, but sad about about Tara. I really liked that show, a lot. Some people are posing the argument of how will you keep telling the same stories and keep it interesting…but Weeds does it, and so does every other show. It’s a shame. See ya later, Tara. You were great while you lasted.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I am thrilled they renewed Nurse Jackie. It seemed like a slam dunk, especially since Falco won the Best Actress Emmy. I love this show. this season has kind of sucked (the rat falling on Zoe was a classic and the whole supplier getting killed by the truck was good too) but the first two really were gold. I am sad O’Hara isn’t as funny as usual and they are not using her as much. I like the Jackie and O’Hara friendship pairing. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets to be more at some point.

I heard Tara was pretty good. I thought about checking it out but just haven’t found the time. I hear you on the argument because I think The L Word suffered from the somewhat horrific story line on season 5 and 6. It was the 2 worst season and they should have killed it after season 4. Maybe they were trying to avoid it like with The L Word.

I love Dexter and while this past season was okay, it was kind of stale. This season has to be the last because I do not think you can keep the story interesting that much longer without Dexter either A) being caught or B) him being found out by Deb or someone else.

@ Nads, the youngest son on Weeds actually becoming a brutal killer and Nancy realizing how destructive her lifestyle has become to her family was one of the most intriguing/powerful season enders on recent TV.

I’m not a big fan of Tara, but I would much prefer Toni Collette to Edie Falco, who is one of the most overrated actresses on television.

@ Angela, killing Doakes was one of the bigger mistakes on Dexter. By lowering the stakes for the character, and rehashing stories (Lila) with new characters, the show has become a shell of its former self.

The L Word ended so badly I wanted Showtime to refund my money for all those years I was a subscriber. At least Toni Collette got out before the storylines tanked!

@Leigh: I own all the DVDs but wished I didn’t. I watch seasons 1, 2, and 4 the most because I was SO MAD when they killed Dana. If I watched the show while it was on TV, I would have cancelled. I stopped my marathon for almost a month after that. That, and the fact Bette broke up with Jodie and that Marina left like that. I have such a girl crush on Karina Lombard.

@Derek: Season 1 was the best of Dexter in my opinion. Season 2 and 4 were okay, Season 5 was mediocre, but season 3 sucked so much that I wanted to puke. At least on Season 5, they made up for that whole apprentice bullcrap with Lumen. That was tolerable.

How long has Tara been on? A lot of Showtime series that I hear of last 6 seasons. I think Weeds has been longer but the average seems like 6 seasons which is why I think Dexter is done after this.

Sooooo… I didn’t think U.S. of Tara would last … it was good but they needed to wrap it up. The L word was lame like any other reality show. I really liked Weeds but I have a feeling it’ll be cancelled pretty soon. They are running out of new material. Nurse Jackie is good. Shameless is awesome. I miss the Tudors….they could have rolled with his two daughters reins to keep it going. Borgias is a good show. Addicted : ) Can’t wait for The Big C to return this week : )
