The MTV VMAs had their highest ratings in history last night delivering 12.4 million viewers. It could have been Beyonce’s baby bump, Lady Gaga, Adele, Jay-Z, or Kanye…but either way, they delivered. Did you guys watch??? I didn’t, but I heard it was a pretty damn good show. They should go hostless more often.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I thought the show was ok, but it didn’t blow me away. I loved Beyonce’s performance though! The way she kept changing keys? That was awesome! And I’m sure I’ll hear it from the Little Monsters, but I did not like Gaga’s performance one bit. I felt like I was in a high school auditorium watching a sophomore acting. I just don’t get her schtick. I know she is an extremely talented musician, there is no disputing that. But I just want to hear her music – not watch a circus or get a political lecture. At this point I wish she would just drop all the gimmicks and more importantly, knock her ego down a few pegs! Maybe I don’t get it, but I’m over the weirdness. Cue the haters in 3…2…1…

This is irrelevant: Can someone unlock the Matthew Fox comments? I’m dying to comment on that sumbitch.

In order to keep this relevant: Adam Levine was right — f**k the VMAs. MTV doesn’t play one single whole video and yet they still have award shows honoring them. Why don’t they just give the awards show to youtube and call it a day?

And they couldn’t have given the Best New Artist Award to a bigger homophobic asshole even if they’d given it to Rick Santorum.

I agree with everything that you said, Kammie. My opinion of ga ga took a nose dive. I wasn’t a fan of hers to begin with, although I do like a couple of her songs. What she did last night was a parody of Elvis knowing that the anniversary of his death was recent. It was too comical to even be a tribute. The slouched shoulders, the scowel, it certainly looked like she was making fun of someone…looked like she belonged on Saturday Night Live with that character..

    I was disgusted.

I am happy for Beyonce and the excitement this baby will bring to her and her husband. They both look so thrilled!

Watching the VMAs made me feel OLD. Had anyone heard of even half of those people?

The show was horrible. No host? I was happy when my DVR cut off early.

Thanks Robin! Its nice to know I’m not the only one.
@Hypnotoad, I never thought of that, but you are so right! It should be a video awards show for Youtube. On another note…are you ready for the last season of DH? I’m ready for your recaps! And the return of Betty Applewhite.

I am feelin’ ya Kammie. I love love love a key change and 5 of them???? totally blew me away. Gaga didn’t piss me off as much a creep me out. The downfall for me .. I felt she made a few people uncomfortable and took a bit of their shine. It’s not all about you all the time dear. I love Chris Brown and what he did on stage. To those who get pissy about not singing live .. whatever.. he can sing, we know that.. this was a large stage and he danced his ass off. He is a great dancer and I am happy he did it, every bit.

I haven’t watched the VMA’s since maybe the late 90′s early 2000′s. I had my much younger cousin over and we watched. I didn’t mind Gaga, I had no idea what she was doing but enjoyed the bulk of the performance. I was thinking 50′s Bronx or West Side Story or well maybe Hells’ Kitchen(not the show). I forget whose award it was but she dragged it out a little too long and spoke when she should not have. Beyonce had clothes on….and it wasn’t a catsuit!!!!!! Congrats to Beyonce and Jay-Z:) Loved Adele….dry Katy/Kanye joke. Man, that Amy Winehouse song was awesome…such of loss of talent.

I thought it was a good show overall. I thought Beyonce, Jay-Z/Kanye, Chris Brown, and Gaga all did a good job. I do agree sometimes I just want Gaga to just sing without all the gimmicks. I agree with giffordsaz, ppl complaining about Chris Brown not singing live, he still gave a goood performance. I would rather him lip-sync rather than him trying to sing and being all off key while doing all that dancing he did.

Gaga tries to steal the psotlight because that’s what you’re supposed to do as a star. you’re supposed to go all out and try to impress.

Got news for Gaga….Annie Lennox did the whole gender swap look onstage about 25 years ago. And she did it better.

It was an okay show. But I loved Bruno Mars tribute to Amy Winehouse. He sang her song beautifully.
