Wednesday’s Leftovers

- Halloween is almost upon us which means lots of fun scary programming. FOX will be having Halloween themed episodes of Glee (ROCKY HORROR ep!!!), The Simpson’s, The Clevelan Show, Family Guy and American Dad. The holiday episodes begin with Glee next Tuesday.

- Can’t get enough of the Kardashians? There is an app for that. E! has launched an application for the iPhone, iPad and Adndroid that offers news, photo galleries and exclusive video content.

- The Parent Teacher Council is mad again. This time they have aimed their anger at GQ for featuring the actresses of Glee (Dianne Agron/Lea Michele) on their cover in some super sexy attire. Both women are 24 and the magazine is for adult men. Thoughts? (via The Superficial)

- Men of A Certain Age is back on TNT (they know drama). I made it through half of the season and think I am going to give season two a chance. If you missed season one below is a recap.

The Parent Council getting mad about the Glee photoshoot is ridiculous. Personally, I think the shoot is kind of weird, but hello, it’s not like Glee is a kids show. They talked about premature ejaculation in one of the first couple of episodes, it’s clearly for 14+. Sorry to break it to you parents, but I am pretty sure that your 14 year old son has seen a lot worse than Lea Michele in her underwear.

It was a colossal miscalculation, because it comes off as soft-core porn, with the two girls spreading their legs and sucking lollipops, while the guy is fully clothed and posing normally. Also, it was photographed by Terry Richardson, who is a pervy fashion photographer who sometimes strips naked when he is shooting models and has been accused of sexual abuse and of being a predator (accusations he hasn’t really denied). The whole thing is sort of icky.

I agree, though, that “Glee” is not a kids’ show, but I’m sure a lot of kids watch it. And the fact that these actors are playing high school students probably adds a level of titillation for the pervy set.

To me, it’s getting to the point that the hype is outshining the show, which I think is a bad thing.

While I think it’s sad that actresses still feel they have to do those soft-porn photo shoots & what from Pixie said-ewwwww, exactly where does GQ fall in the PC realm? Are kids asking for subscriptions along with Tiger Beat? (Is that still around?) And parents should know by now that Fox programming isn’t geared towards (younger)kids.

I liked “Men of a Certain Age.” I really thought it was a pleasant surprise & am looking forward to the next season.

I fully support Lea Michele’s God-given right to show me as much bra strap and panty crotch as she wants. Parent Teacher Council: why don’t you like fun?

The nerve of these un-Americans attempting to take away these poor innocent people’s right to freedom of expression.

I for one will be watching Glee much differently from now on. Although I think Dianna Agron’s (ker-thump ker-thump goes my heart) photos were a bit chaste.

Also, I’m really looking forward to the Rocky Horror ep.
