Whoopi Goldberg just inked a deal with Discovery Emerging Networks. With her new deal she and her partner, Tom Leonardis, will develop series for Investigation Discovery and Science Channel. Whoopi said, “Since I’m really curious about the world, what better place for Tom and me to exercise this interest than at Discovery?” Congrats Whoopi.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Indeed, you suck at grammar so much that you are making fun of correct grammar. “Tom and me” in that context is an object, not a subject and “me” is the correct pronoun. Think about it if “Tom” wasn’t there. Which sounds better – “What better place for me to exercise this interest” or “What better place for I to exercise this interest”? The second one sounds ridiculous, “me” is correct. The pronoun doesn’t change just because you are adding someone else to the sentence. Sorry to be a grammar nerd, but I couldn’t let it pass.

lovett – I really don’t see the value in pointing out grammatical inconsistencies within a published QUOTE.

Do you honestly think Whoopi reads this site and might learn something here?!

DMG, lovett was talking to me. I wrote that i thought that Whoopi should have said, tom and i, but i wasn’t sure…but i didn’t say it in a mean fashion at all, i was questioning it. i fixed it, since it was debatable and after lovett wrote that i “indeed sucked at grammar.” i didn’t want to deal w/ people debating a grammar issue when i was just announcing a deal. know what i mean?? i’m off to santa barbara to see my lil’ bro at college now!
