Bravo has renewed Work of Art for a second season. I’m actually really excited about this renewal. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the show in the beginning, but once I started watching I was hooked. I loved that they were able to pull off a competition show about something so subjective as art. It’s kind of insane. The one thing that I need to let go now is that I compare every new competition show that Bravo does to Runway…nothing will ever be Runway, and Lifetime’s Runway isn’t even the same Runway anymore. I swear, sometimes I feel like a psycho ex-girlfriend when it comes to TV shows.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Yay!! I’m so excited! One of my fav competition shows. I wonder if SexyPanda is recapping again? We had quite the group of commenters last time and I look forward to more intellectual convos/debates!

I thought it was renewed awhile ago. Like not long after the finale. They’ve already finished the first part of casting because they were in SoCal in mid-October. But I’m glad there was a formal announcement because it seems even that much more official.

And FYI – Abdi’s piece sold at auction was Baptism and it sold for $16K, which was well above estimate. Of course, he may not have profited from it since Bravo owns the work, so it’s likely more of a symbolic sale for him.

It’s “my” show, so as long as I’m alive and well, I’ll be covering it again, I think!

    Glad that it’s coming back!

(I cancelled on my trip to Brooklyn to see the show, and I’m sad to have missed the experience of Abdi’s pieces in person.)
